Or something to that effect.

But she doesn't. And I don't either. Just because daddy bloodbent his entire audience outside of a full moon doesn't explain how he learned how to do that, or how he passed it on to his son.
Do you think that will be something they explain in a later episode, or am I just missing something here? Or is this gonna be one of these things that just gets glossed over in the hopes that nobody questions it?

She knows because his father could do it an obviously he passed the knowledge onto Tarlok somehow. She probably doesn't know HOW he does it, but she knows WHY he knows how to do it.

Also, does it seem strange that Yakone seemed to be able to bloodbend without moving much of his body? He mostly just had to stare at them.

Which bring us back to the theory that he wasn't bloodbending the courtroom, someone else was.

The "someone else was doing it" theory makes the most sense to me, until you consider Tarrlok bloodbent the equalists in the cabin alone.

No, the theory is that a bloodbender helped him escape from the courtroom, not that he isn't actually a bloodbender.

Or, as the episode suggests, he did it himself when he was cornered and Aang removed his bending. Then Tarlok was taught how to do it and got it taken away by Amon.

Yakone could have been bloodbending in a way similar to Combustion Man's fire bending.

I guess I kind of dodge my own question there. I guess I really just want to know whether or not you guys think the ability to bloodbend without a full moon will be explained.

I sure hope so. I'm not a guy who likes open-ended anything.

I think maybe it'll get about as much explanation as the mechanics of metalbending. I think Yakone was just able to overcome a limitation on his bending through some kind of ingenuity, as most most new bending styles happen.

Like Sokka says, it's just one of those things that happen. Sometimes people are special and you just gotta deal with it.

That said, the "Every night except the full moon" comment in the court may hint at something.

I think people are blowing that out of proportion. All Yakone wanted to do was have a solid alibi. It can't get more solid than "reported to have been doing bloodbending but never on the day of the month that bloodbending is possible."

That would be like trying to accuse an Earthbender of bending the ocean. It seems impossible. but it isn't.

taking this from /co/ because it's pretty true

Quote:
>still no explanation as to why you can't bend in the spirit world
>Korra can't realistically beat Amon without an asspull

Quote:
>amon chi blocks and tries to energybend korra
>avatarstate.yipyip
>amon gets thoroughly spanked

I also have this. It's the best.

I-It's not like I took his bending for you B-BAKA!!

Also, don't forget that King Bumi could earthbend with just his face. He was a very powerful bender. Yakone, being a natural bloodbender on non-full moon days means he was a pretty powerful bender himself, so just like Bumi he's likely able to bend with the slightest twitches. It's really not all that farfetched.

Plus the Yanoke incident happened, what, 40 years prior to LoK, whereas Tarrlock is supposed to be 30 something. I doubt he would've been involved in the courthouse bloodbending.
