I don't get it

So I decided I might as well start putting some music on my Kindle, go to buy an album and it's on the cloud or whatever. I go to download it onto the tablet and I see a few albums for which I bought physical CDs recently.

OH TITS, I think, it gave me some digital versions of albums I already bought, that's pretty cool, except it's only two albums, and I have bought many more CDs from Amazon. All on the same account, so I'm wondering why the discrimination in availability.

UPDATE: So I called Amazon and the customer service guy told me the albums were on my Kindle because the CDs I bought had a feature called "AutoRip" that automatically makes a digital version of the album available for me. I had no idea this was a thing.
