And yet it was BEHIND the tree, not beneath it. Those are two different directions.

I find it funny that Dave Willis criticizes the comic book industry for its refusal to change when he's been using the same characters from his Walky series for years and years now.

They get considerably different results. And we're talking about a one man team using his own characters versus an industry using characters written decades ago with a legion of artists and writers to help. With their resources they should be capable of so much more.

Agreeing with Thea. I've had the same characters in my brain since I was 6, and if I were to do different writing and styles, it'd probably feature more or less the same characters with different backgrounds and settings. Anyone that's ever rped can tell you that's pretty much exactly what I do. The comic book industry's had decades and hundreds of writers, and they're all using the same characters. Sometimes to the point of making it so they might as well be a completely different character, but they want to keep the brand because it sells.

I still find him to be a hypocrite. He wants the comic industry to stop using the same characters over and over in series with completely different tones, themes, and ideas when he's done the exact same thing with Walky, Shortpacked, and Dumbing of Age. Hell, Dumbing of Age is basically a reboot of his Walky series, and reboots are one of the comic industry's greatest sins. His arguments would hold a lot more weight if he practiced what he's preaching (well, less preaching and more soapboxing).

Read the Twitter, apparently the algorithm for the clock was rounding incorrectly. Though he does then say it was fixed by two other people so I don't know.
