Not any more than other people, it's just a lot more noticeable when a webcomic artist gets ill as opposed to a random office worker.

If you're working by yourself and have to make those weekly or so check-ins, anything going wrong pushes progress back. There's no one to cover for you.

Pounded through the archives of d20 Monkey in a day. It was alright, the jokes and writing are somewhat juvenile but getting better and the art has improved over the three years it's been around. Now it's in the middle of a plot-heavy arc so I have to bite my nails and wait for the resolution just like every webcomic I read.

Looks like the Order of the Stick will be making that portal jump after all.

AHHHHHHHHHH I just want to punch Tarquin in his smug fucking face, he makes everything sound like he's planning for it, I cant STAND this fucking douche. If he doesnt cry like a bitch before he dies, I will be very disappointed

I foresee another party split in the near future.

And if it doesn't happen, then someone will certainly comment on the last one.

In a comic that has no fourth wall whatsoever, the ideal villain is someone who visits TV Tropes every day so he knows all the meta-tricks. I know he's annoying, but he's pretty much exactly what one would expect for the setting. Also, being Elan's father, his "traits" needed to extrapolate (is that the right word?) Elan's own. And since Elan basically uses tropes as his weapon now, the obvious extension of that would be the ultimate meta-chessmaster.

If he's annoying, he's not an ideal villain, he's a bad character the reader is forced to put up with. God, its like the GM's pet villain, NOTHING ever goes wrong for him, I cant stand it. And its probably a few years atleast before he dies.

Also, Elan can get away with using tropes as a weapon because he's an ineffective comedy hero on his own and its usually played for laughs, while Tarquin just plays everything completely straight and NEVER FUCKING LOSES.

Thats not a good villain, its actually really shitty writing.

I figured they were going to make another mech for Radical to fight.

I kinda wanted Washingtron DC rather than something cobbled together from tanks, but this works.

Every time I see Spinnerette fanart it reminds me that, where I see a fairly enjoyable deconstruction of superhero elements with more realism (as in politics and such), a lot of other people just see it as masturbation material.

Seriously, almost every single piece of fanart involving Spinnerette has her nipples poking out from the suit like it's freezing or in ridiculous poses designed to show off tiddies and booty at the same time.

I probably wouldn't be seeing so much fanart though if the creators could actually nail down a reliable update schedule instead of flaking constantly while asking for cheddar.

to be fair, the guy who draws it is pretty well known as a porn artist and he does a lot of those same things himself

He's the writer, not the artist. It is true for his other comics, but not this one at least, I hated his other ones because that's all they focused on.

Penny Arcade is doing ANOTHER non-Penny Arcade storyline. Do they just forget what comic theyre making sometimes? Its not that theyre bad, Id be fine with reading them if it was just some extra feature, but I come to PA to read gaming humor, not whatever other idea they get sidetracked by.

OoTS: Shouldn't Tarquin be familiar with the clichés involving overwhelming odds? I think that will be his downfall, that he thinks Elan is the main hero of the stoy instead of comedy relief and that he forgets to apply the clichés to the other heroes.
