One thing DBGT did right was introduce consequences to the rapid use of the Dragonballs.

New Order Of the Stick. Hey, turns out there's actual consequences to treating everyone around you like a giant plot set.

So Sandra & Woo picked out several readers to receive posters, and I was one of them. That's cool, right?

I think I know why I stopped reading it. I think it's because I can't stay invrsted in comics that don't have an ongoing story. Sandra and Woo is great, but I just can't focus on something that doesn't have an overarching story.

My problem is made even more drastic by the fact that many, MANY webcomics end prematurely or just stop abruptly with no reason given. I used to follow The Meek which was shaping up to be awesome but then the author had a bunch of real life stuff she needed to do. To be fair she had a reason (and a very good reason, unlike other authors who are all "I just don't feel like it right now") as to why her comic is on hiatus right now, which is a lot more than other webcomic artists care to give. The only webcomic I follow right now is Unsounded, which has stuck to its schedule really well thanks to its dedicated author.

The Meek is a tragedy. Pleasing art, realistic writing, interesting and deep characters, hints at what might have been a wonderful storyline, and then it just grinds to a halt. Lackadaisy looks like it's about to suffer the same fate.

Dresden Codak is less a grinding halt and more someone putting a gallon in the tank every six months.

Some troubles with the artist herself, some with her publisher, mostly her apparently but no one wants to talk about it.

Aaron Diaz is too far up his own booty to ever put a real schedule on Dresden Codak.

Are webcomic artists just unusually plagued by misfortune, or are they an average level? Cause it seemed to me like webcomic people more than any other are plagued with computer problems, health issues and apparently have the most infirm and frail family members on the planet
