Nightmare Knight is so tired of this bullshit I think he doesn't even care about being a villain anymore after a hundred cycles of this. He's phoning it in, which makes sense why his reactions to minion failures are always, "I knew it."

Nightmare Knight is actually the character I most enjoy.

It's a tie between him and Cucumber for me. Cucumber has the "Everyone is crazy and only I seem to notice" thing he's got going on, which I find hilarious every time something stupid happens and he's the only one who has a problem with it.

Nightmare Knight is completely aware of how incompetent everyone but him is, and Cucumber is completely aware of how stupid everyone but him is.

I'm like 80% sure that this will end up being important and lead to a "we're not that different" moment

Nightmare Knight is most likely the final party member.
Unless there's a big twist that reveals he is actually a horrible person. That could happen.

Last of Us is supposed to have a really powerful and gripping story. The zombie apocalypse is just a setting.

What makes it more gripping than any other zombie setting? From what Ive read of the story, it seems pretty standard "guy lost his family to undead and now he's a douche" thing

I don't know, I haven't finished it myself yet. So far I like the characterisation of the characters though, and the general atmosphere and tone. And again the story is a separate element from the setting, think of the setting as the background of a picture. It's there mainly to provide context, but it's not the core of the work.

Play it first before you call out someone's view on it.

He's not so much evil as he just does whatever he thinks is fun. The creator explains it all on the wiki.
