cross postan for critique. It's supposed to be really simple (I mean come on, the first half of it is an eight measure round), just as sort of a change of pace from some of the more complex and math-y stuff I"ve been working on lately.

It's because the intro or whichever part that is does make good tech commercial music. It's a repetitive base with no words.

I think I'm getting back into Van Halen in a bad way.

Oh please. I was just wondering how you get back into a band in a "bad way."

Okay, I wasn't sure with your wording what, no whatever doesn't matter.

I just mean, like, I really really really want to buy all the albums and everything but I can't afford it at all but I NEED IT you know what I mean?

Preordered the limited edition of the new album by Turmion Kätilöt. They're an industrial metal band, but this album is supposedly gonna be techno. Doesn't come out till late September, it's gonna be a long wait.

i somehow can't imagine turmion kätilöt as full techno, but considering their music does have that kind of beat i can see where it'd work. i was just listening to their Perstechnique album the other day. i am super bad at looking up bands i like to hear new albums; i hadn't heard any of their stuff since Pirun nyrkki lol worst fan ><

i want that shirt ugh.

I never expected to meet someone else on this forum who has heard of them, let alone listens to them. Personally, I found Perstechnique to be their weakest album yet. I haven't enjoyed their English stuff nearly as much as their earlier albums which we're 100% Finnish. It's in the lyrics, mostly.

I wouldn't mind listening to a whole album in the vein of this song.

haha i rarely find people who enjoy industrial music much less the shit i like haha. my husband has family friends who are finnish and have seen them live etc. and that's where i was introduced.

yeah idk i enjoyed Perstechnique alright but it wasn't quite as good as their other stuff. i found myself able to listen to it pretty easily while i was working which usually doesn't happen with my industrial stations on pandora so i guess that says something. there were a couple songs i remember liking though.

mtv/dna is how i keep imagining the techno album sounding with a tiny bit more electronic-y noise.

i just got back from this year's brutal assault festival in the czech republic, where - among some thirty other bands, including atari teenage riot - i saw decrepit birth, for the second time this year. their vocalist, bill robinson, is a precious miracle. not only does he look like robinson crusoe, he's also 48, homeless by choice, a passionate surfer, psychonaut and speaks out for love & against homo- and transphobia between all those brutal death metal songs.

listen to decrepit birth. throw your cheddar at them. they put on a great show - and they're awesome, awesome people.
