AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I've always liked Touhou music. Japanese female vocalists are usually hit/miss for me but this one fit the song. I give it a 9/Cirno.

Now my next song will be something pretty different. It's the song I tried to post on the previous page but UMG said fuck you and slapped it with a copyright notice. Now the band itself uploaded the song along with a music video to Youtube, only for it to get deleted within half an hour due to Youtube's 'no nudity' policy. So they reuploaded it to Vimeo.

The music video's 100% exhibitionism. 90% of the time you'll be staring at someone's butt along with suggestive body movements. Don't worry though, there are no dicks or nipples. Just lots of butts.

Not that big of a fan. The instrumental was nice, but to be honest it really just sounded like the same segment of music repeated over and over again. Butts were neat though. ( | )

It was kinda confusing and nonsensical? Why make a song about japan and only mention the atari? I kept expecting nintendo or pikachu or mario or something. Also I think the mix was poor. It would have been better if the voices were pushed to the front so they weren't drowned out by the 4(?, one of those has to be a bass) guitars. 5 pies out of 10 not aggressively bad just bland.

Agalloch - Limbs

Love me some atmospheric, slow-tempo metal. 5-minute intros aren't something you hear everyday.

I've been holding back with linking actual, heavier metal but fuck it, I'll continue the theme.

Juxtaposition is always a plus when I'm listening to metal. Alternating between ear-shattering and soothing keeps me interested, so I enjoy instances like this when the band mixes heavy bloody sound with sweet orchestral music. Not a big fan of vocals that I can't understand, though. 8/10, I'll be looking for more from this band later.

I do like the direction this thread is going. TIME TO GO MAINSTREAM.

Electric Wizard - Vinum Sabbathi

Didn't click for me. I didn't like distorted instruments and the vocals sounding electric (no pun intended) and drowned-out got boring fast.

Edit: right so I kinda killed this thread it seems so let's try something more accessible this time.

That song kinda struck me as on of those songs that you hear on the radio, and you like it, but you never actually buy the album. It's a good song, but a little repetitive towards the end. Overall, I liked it. It was very fun and Funky. It's not something exceptional, but still decent in its own right. 7 out of 10 experimental death metal bands.

Homeboy Sandman - Not Pop

Kidding. I didn't really feel it. I get the message, but I just didn't really feel it. The music was repetitive, and the lyrics were kinda slurred together so I couldn't understand half of it. If this was all part of the message then I apologize, I'm not trained to notice this stuff at 5 in the morning running on no sleep. I might give it another listen when I'm more lucid but for now it gets a 4/coffee

Arch Enemy - Hybrids of Steel
One of my faves; continuing the metal trend from before. This one's completely instrumental.

That was alright. Arch Enemy never really clicked for me and they didn't seem like the band to go to for instrumental metal but the song was pretty enjoyable.

That was, different, I suppose would be the word. I liked it: it was very atmospheric, but the singing is a tad too breathy to understand. It was good in what it was doing, though. Ω/10 pan flutes.

That was interesting. I'm generally not a fan of using human voices in place of instruments but this song didn't take it overboard. It was oddly catchy though not necessarily something I'd find myself actively listening to. 7 bongos.

Yeah, that was definitely different. Wouldn't have expected it to have that kind of a music video based on the song alone. Not something I'd voluntarily listen to but pretty catchy nonetheless.
And don't get me started on having a little girl star in a video like this. That shit wouldn't fly in 2012.
