From that list, I like Testament, Kreator, Korpiklaani and Rotting Christ. That doesn't guarantee you'll like them though. Testament's good thrash but their style has varied a lot over the years. Kreator's pretty similar. Rotting Christ has a unique style that may not be for everyone. Korpiklaani for good ol' folk metal.

Checked out some of Korpiklaani's stuff, that could be fun. The others aren't scheduled on good times for me to see unfortunately. The worst part is that I just realized I won't see Iron Maiden since I'm going on Friday and they're playing on Sunday.

I finally got around to using all the download codes I got with my records. The cards I used in no particular order:

Knife Man by Andrew Jackson Jihad

The cheddar Store by Death Grips

Age of Adz by Sufjan Stevens

The Seer-Swans

On Avery Island-Neutral Milk Hotel

I'm also putting two albums I have on CDs on my computer finally which are Shaking the Habitual by The Knife and Moon Hooch by Moon Hooch

good day for albums

I went to Graspop and it was one of the best experiences of my life, period. The atmosphere in the crowd is absolutely amazing, and there's a real sense of camaraderie. If someone falls down in moshpit they're immediately surrounded, shielded and helped up. I'm still exhausted and worn out but here are my impressions from the live performances of the bands I saw.

Helloween: underwhelming
All That Remains: only catched part of their performance, but was pretty solid I thought
Coal Chamber: they were originally scheduled for a side tent but had to perform on the main stage due to scheduling issues, music wasn't my thing and they didn't really get the crowd along
Heaven Shall Burn: breathtakingly insane, I didn't get the chance to focus my ears much because the crowd went completely mental, but what I picked up sounded pretty great
Korn: overall pretty good, some of their songs were great but others I didn't like as much.
Soulfly: another incredible experience and a great performance
Twisted Sister: despite the pouring rain their songs still kept spirits high. You could tell they really loved the crowd and the crowd loved them right back.

I'm definitely going to stay the full weekend next year. This was also my biggest festival so far and it was kind of surreal seeing so many people in one place. They get almost 150 000 visitors from over 60 countries over the weekend.

i'm surprised at the amount of vinyl collectors here haha

my dad's got a vintage turntable that i'm sure needs some work and when i have space i'm taking it to add to the hilarity of my very technologically up to date home that i insist on also filling with defunct technology and knitting supplies.

all our records are southern gospel from the 70s, kid's songs, and a 45 of never gonna give you up. i need to find a vinyl store.

my music tastes are...everywhere. mainly electronica, industrial and ~indie. lately i've been listening to lots of Blackmill. it's good work music.

It's weird listening to bands that I initially blew off because I knew fans who were complete assholes or just annoying as hell, and realizing that I've made huge mistakes and that the bands are actually great.

That dude in the middle could be Rob Zombie's long-lost twin.

Punk folk is like the music written by white, middle class kids that are angry at white, middle class adults and that might be why I like it so much.
