A friend basically made me sit through all three seasons of Black Books recently. Great show.

Dear Mr Chussington-Howe-Foxworthy,
Quote:
Thank you for returning my manuscript and your enclosed nasty little nimminy-pimminy note. I am afraid your letter is most unsuitable for me at the present time, as I've just spent the entire weekend writing the novel that you have summarily rejected.

I can only presume it is company policy to reject all manuscripts not submitted in ten-foot-high braille, and yes, I am aware it is traditionally bad form to respond to any kind of criticism or rejection, but in this, as with all else, I am an innovator, therefore I may freely address you as... PISS MIDGET. Still, there's time for you to change your views, and I think you will when we meet, and meet we most assuredly will: when I suck out your eyes and use them as stoppers for my ears to muffle the screams you will make as I headbutt you into a fine paste I do hope you will not be disheartened by your sudden violent death.

Yours faithfully, Bernard Black.

Copper is an exceptionally brutal and dirty show. It fits very well with what I learned about 1860s NYC in history class.

I'm going through the commentaries of the episodes on my Blu-Rays of the show, so I'll be interested on if the creator/writers say about it all.

But it still looked stupid.

But on to season 5 now! wheee

Man, Venture Bros is pretty rad. Why does it seem like adult swim has better writers than a lot of sitcoms out there

There are no words to describe Krieger. He simply is.

So my friend and I finished watching Cowboy Bebop, and we're trying to find some more condensed TV shows to watch through. We considered Baccano and Ghost in the Shell (lol whoops talking about animu in the TV thread) but we're also considering some stuff like Firefly, only because we've heard its good, I don't actually know anything about it. There are some other series we thought of, but I can't remember.

I considered finishing watching all of Chuck (despite my obsession with it, I can't seem to find time to watch it) but its 5 seasons and kinda more all over the place, so we're looking for some smaller series just to watch through in our spare time.

Firefly is really great if you want a really neat condensed TV experience

It is also just really great no matter what

Firefly's a masterpiece

and a tragedy

Revolution's pretty all right, interesting enough to keep watching
though I'm already tired of the romantic subplot with Nate they're inevitably going to develop

Firefly had me cryin like a big ol baby girl in like every second episode because I am a ball of repressed emotions and whedon's pretty great at snappy dialogue

If you can handle ExtremeBritishToTheMax look up Jeeves and Wooster, it is one of the greatest adaptations of literature out there and honestly probably the best thing Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie have done together.

There's Poirot too of course, worth it just for the moustache really. Party Down is amazing at managing to be incredibly depressing and still hilarious at the same time. And hey there's always Game Centre CX because Arino is King of Men.

I really love Ugly Betty but I always cringe whenever any of the characters speak to any of the supermodel characters like children or animals. Even the "good guy" characters do it!

It's really awful.

It just seems like "Make yourself feel better by making fun of the pretty skinny girl!"
