Interesting thought, but Chi blockers work by temporarily disabling chakra sections of the body, disrupting the flow and keeping benders from bending. If Tarlok is indeed Amon, could it be that he's using Bloodbending to fuck with the chakra spots to achieve the same results as Spiritbending without being Energybending (and being flashy)?

I was thinking about that as well, when I saw that they knew that skill. Also, my DVR cut the episode kind of short; it got to the part where the credits were rolling at the bottom during the show. Did it say where Tarrlok was taking Korra, or what's in store next week?

And I'm with Topaz; a lot of stuff is gonna be revealed once Korra has a chat with Aang. Also, another thing's been on my mind: Korra's been knocked out three times already, but each time, you think she'd have the Avatar State kicked into gear when her life was in danger, like it did with Aang. So when is THAT going to happen?

So when is THAT going to happen?

The episode ended with her being taken away in the car. We don't know where she's going, but Tarlok assured her that "no one will be able to find" her.

According to Wikipedia, next episode is about Lin going after her missing Metalbenders. Maybe she'll find Korra along the way?

And Korra can't Access the Avatar State without being connected to her past life. Her lack of spirituality means that she can't call on their experience or power like Aang could.

Also, speaking of, could Aang be the cause of Korra's lack of connection to her past lives? He nearly destroyed the Avatar Spirit when Azula nearly killed him, and while he did reconnect it and access the Avatar state in his fight with Ozai, he still didn't fully open his 7th Chakra. Maybe because he didn't fully master the Avatar Spirit, this caused his next successor to have problems connecting spiritually, kinda like Roku's lack of heart to fight Sozin could have contributed to Aang's sheer unwillingness to take Ozai's life (though I'm sure the Air Nomad teachings contributed too (but Yangchen never had this issue)).

Just a fan theory, but it makes sense to me.

And one more thing, did anyone else think that the episode was going towards a conflict between Asami and Korra, what with Ikki telling her about Korra's feelings for Mako and the glare at Korra in the mirror?

My guess is that Korra is going to save Mako and he's going to either hug or facebattle her while Asami is there, and that's going to cause another 3 way tension like episode 5 did.

Anyone have a set of pictures with Asami being devastated while holding the flower bouquet?

EDIT: Jesus Christ, these Spoiler Tags.

Naww, I just saw that stuff as a reminder of the romantic tension, which I am getting really tired of. We know about the triangle, Nick; could you stop adding fuel to the shippers' fire for at least one bloody episode? Although by your description of next week's ep, Kamak, it's likely that none there won't be any romantic crap.

Suddenly Tenzin and Lin commit tonguebending while a devastated Pema watches through a telescope.

Pema is secretly Amon.

There are probably several fan fictions about that right now, Clyve. Three of which you most likely have open in another tab right now.

What if we're ALL Amon, and we just don't know it?

If it did somehow turn out that Tarrlok is Amon, I think that would be really brilliant planning on his part. I think of it this way: he would have basically created an endgame where he wins no matter what. Using the fear and divisions between benders and non-benders created by "Amon", he manipulates everyone and rises to power with his public identity. He becomes the most powerful politician in Republic City and rules it as a police state with the police force acting as a Dai Lee of sorts if "Amon" loses the fight. At the same time, the increasingly strict laws cause non-benders to feel the weight of oppression and they blame their conditions on a bender, namely Tarrlok, moving more people to join the anti-bender revolt. If "Amon" wins, he basically would overthrow all other benders in the city and, I imagine, either imprison, kill, or actually remove their bending if he has that ability in fact. He would be unopposed after that as long as he gives the non-benders enough freedom to allow them to imagine that they have a better life under "Amon" and they think that they got exactly what they wanted. If the two characters are the same person, or at least cooperating, it would be incredibly difficult for anyone to break through their facade.

Yeah, it would be interesting to see him be who he says he is. It would also be hilarious to see the fan reactions.

Tarlok isn't Amon because Amon takes down benders without bending, Tarlok was so helpless when Korra knocked him away from the water that he had to resort to bloodbending to win.

How do we know Amon doesn't use bending? because he says so? He could just be doing it in a less pronounced way, like bloodbending. Especially since he couldn't lead a band of anti-benders if he's an overt Waterbender making giant puddles of water float in the air.
