Most of your points sound kind of strange to me. Now I've read the books quite a few times, but that was a long time ago, so my memory is hazy at best on most points.

First Samwise did play a very crucial part in getting the Ring to Mordor, but Frodo had to carry the psychological burden/torture of the Ring. Sauron was kind of banished from Middle Earth or something, at the very least the destruction of the Ring means he was powerless anyway. Arwen's relationship with Aragorn is hinted at at some point, I think you're not meant to figure it out beforehand though. Their romance was quite underplayed, but I personally didn't care that much anyway. Frodo leaves Middle Earth because he's forever scarred by the Ring. He left Sam behind because Sam was really pop flyin' in Middle Earth, I think he was married at that point too. Sam wanted to follow Frodo because he's Sam, and that's what he does, but Frodo wouldn't allow it because he knew Sam would be happier in Middle Earth. It's also not simply another continent where they went too, but you pretty much had to have read the Silmarillion to completely understand what it is. It's kind of explained in the trilogy I think though.

Your memory is right, I was explaining why I did not like the ending, so of course I was not objective

I know about the psychological burden, but it was barely described. So even though I knew there was a reason, Frodo looked like a jerk to me whenever he was mean with Sam after being saved countless times.

As far as I can remember, Arwen was said to be part of Elrond's council but didn't say or do anything, then Aragorn said her name while speaking Elvish in Lothlórien, and she was the one who sewed the banner thing. Yes, Aragorn staying distant with Eowyn rang a bell, but other than that the only way to know was to read the Appendixes before finishing the third book.

Maybe I was just not paying attention enough during the departure part (I read the epilogue somewhat hastily), but I kept the feeling that the explanations were really not sufficient. I might re-read that part to see if it can leave me with a better feeling.

On that I agree, Frodo was a bit of an booty. Especially when he abandoned Sam for Gollum, because he thought Sam ate all the food or something. But I believe that was done intentionally, to show the Ring subtly corrupting Frodo.

I think that part was added in the movie but not present in the books. The only time Frodo left Sam was after he was captured by orcs after being paralyzed by the giant spider, or so I remember.

I can't recall, but it did make Frodo look kind of retarded. Hurr durr, my best friend that has been travelling with me across the continent into the land of pure evil has eaten the cookies because the evil corrupted thing that I pity told me so.

I bodaciously didn't get past the first chapter of LOTR, Lord of The Flies, Wuthering Heights, Moby Dick and basically every other "classic" book, except for the Narnia series (and even then the only one I could say I actually finished AND enjoyed reading was A Horse And His Boy). I think I'm too modern for Old Brits' language or something, I don't really like reading classics.

Personally, my favorite books are anything coming from Terry Pratchett, Harry Potter (commence groaning), The Book Thief (MY GOD SO HEARTBREAKING), and I Am The Messenger (the last two were by the same author BTW). Right now I'm reading a book given to me by my teacher called Bel Canto, and it's about a group of famous people in a small country who get kidnapped by justice terrorists who are looking for the President of said country, but instead of being hostile for their kidnapping they eventually grow fond of each other throughout the months. So far I'm only about 150 pages in, but it's looking excellent so far.

This terrible author gets a really big award and I don't know why. Every store and person who has anything to say about him praises him for no reason.

A Song of Ice and Fire was my favorite series before everyone else knew about it. I'd explain it to you but you probably wouldn't understand anyway.

All jokes aside, I read them in Dutch. Then I read them in English. Then I read them in English again. I wouldn't even know where to begin describing my favorite scenes and characters. It might be a little hard to get through the first book with all the names and exposition, but keep reading. Even the people that didn't care too much for the first book love the second.

I have a writing class, and naturally there was this short story called "August Heat"

it was supposed to demonstrate subtle foreshadowing

bodaciously the entire point of the book is about giant, enormous "HEY LOOK I'M FORESHADOWING SOMETHIIINNGG" shit.

goddamn it

also i have the same teacher for econ, and she's just as bad

i have no fucking clue what the stock market even DOES, stop asking me and just explain shit already
