Yeah... It's sad to me when the villain loses. Especially since most villains are, as I stated earlier, intelligent, and rely on their own ingenuity rather then god like strength or billion dollar finances, or magical weaponry. Although in Avatar, I actually cheered for the good guys. Especially Sokka. He was awesome. And for not being a bender, he still managed to hold his own. I also really liked the Ember Island Players version of Toph... XD "I can see, but not with my eyes. I use sonic soundwaves! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!! There, I got a good look at you." XD

I would make a good supervillain.

Being a villain does not automatically make a character intelligent, refined, or cool. Bowser is an excellent villain but I would hardly consider him refined. He might not even be that intelligent.

And I would say Fire Lord Ozai planning to eradicate the earth kingdom on the day of the comet was less ingenuity and more 'god-like strength'.

I really do like how Legend of Korra is handling the issues of morality for the most part. Every side has strengths and weaknesses. I've even found myself supporting Tahno despite his horrible first impression because he's not just a cookie cutter bad guy who will never change no matter what. He's a human and his reaction to what happened after the championship is downright pitiful. To see someone who used to be so confident, stripped of all their dignity...it's downright sad, I think.

I never liked Tahno except for his voice, so I don't mind terribly that he got his booty served, even though the way of it was horrible. I do really enjoy how they show the impact it has on his character.

As much as I like the original Avatar series you'd think I'd have already been watching this

But nope I missed the first episode and I'm terrible at backwatching shows.

Nickelodeon has all six episodes on their site if you're willing to watch it streamed. It's how I've been keepin' up in this hotel.

Powered though the first series and caught up on Korra. It's so obvious Amon is going to get Tenzin at some point and take his Airbending away. Also I was surfing around the Avatar wiki and found a link to something that may be a HUGE SPOILER regarding Amon but it looks fake so I can't tell.

Said Image if you want to see it click at your own risk and whatnot.

It's supposed to be Bumi one of Aang's sons. He doesn't have any bending powers so people are theorizing some jealousy.

I don't believe it. Amon said his family was destroyed by the Avatar. Jealousy or no, I hardly think Bumi would blacken his own father's reputation. There's no way Aang and Katara would have been so terrible as to make him hate the avatar that much. Plus, that image doesn't even resemble that picture of Bumi that was seen on that family tree-looking picture someone posted earlier.

Regarding Tenzin:
I would cry if his airbending got taken. But I doubt it will actually happen.
Another point against the Bumi theory: why would Bumi take his own brother's bending ability?

I thought Amon said firebenders took his family away and burned his entire face.

I don't really believe the Bumi thing I just found that image and was going by what I saw, the shading and the way he's holding the mask looks really really weird.

Also it would be pretty smart if Amon found out Korra needed to learn Airbending and he took away that source. How would Korra learn Airbending after that? The kids?

No, Amon's family was destroyed by a fire bender.

Personally, I can actually see that being Zuko, and not a literal destruction. Might be that some shit went down with the guy Aang fought all those years ago, tore some of the family apart, and Bumi made Zuko out in his mind as the bad guy.

Alternatively, if he's not Aang's son, he could be the son of the guy Aang fought. Zuko could even still be involved, especially if he fought around the kid Amon and accidentally burned him or something. Amon is DEF TOTES connected to Aang somehow though, if Korra's flashbacks everytime he's around are any sort of foreshadowing.

Plus I'm pretty sure Tenzin would be aware what his family members are up to and be able to recognize his own brother.

Are we ever going to see the rest of Aang's children? I don't recall seeing the picture Cori mentioned.

Guys, I like how you're trusting Amon to be telling the truth about his past. We didn't even get a vivid flashback. All I see the story doing for him is garnering pity and offering a reason as to why he hides behind a mask.

Anyways, as far as theories go...

I think Korra will "master" Airbending by the end of this season and confront Amon. During which, she'll be close to winning, but make a hot-headed mistake that leads to Amon taking her bending away. Without her bending, she loses her confidence, and this segways to the second season where she has to unlock the spiritual side of being the avatar and take her power back from Amon, or at least strip him of his spiritbending, rendering him powerless.

Also, I have to wonder. If Spiritbenders can take away a benders power, where does that power go? With Aang, I could see him "absorbing" the fire lord's power because he was the avatar and could already fire bend. But what about Amon? Is the bending inside of him rather than in the victim? And if so, could he be trying to tap into it? Could this be why we wants Korra to learn all 4 elements before he fights her?

I think the picture was on the Avatar Wiki, [IF].

I think it would be really cool if there was something more to Amon than his plan to bring down benders. If there was something more in it for him, particularly if it were related to the spirit world and Koh or something, that would make things more interesting for the next season.
