I'd have to say so as well. It seems to be a shared trait among those two to not be able to see or ignoring the full consequence of their actions.

I'm not sure if that's just a lack of judgement or hubris.

I personally believe Aranea is overconfident in her ability, she's risking far too much on the possibility that she can do all that without repercussions.

Val, you have her plan wrong, she's not trying to erase the session, she's trying to make it null and void (do i get bonus points for using this term) so that it erases Caliborn's sesison, and then she's going to make the timeline that she created the alpha timeline using her Sylph of Light power.
She's not trying to erase the kid sessions.

I think she wants to heal a timeline where every character lives, and lives good lives. Yes it's foolish, but if she can pull it off, she's saving everyone.

I can't help but think that by rendering the B2 session null, and therefore preventing Universe C (cherub universe. that's convenient!) from ever existing....wouldn't that sort of doom bodaciously every character to nonexistence? Even Aranea?

Lord English presented a glitch in the Beforan universe that caused their ectobiology to appear in a scratched session. No Lord English, no scratch, no A1 steak sauce trolls. No scratched session, no B universe. No B2 universe. It's the most reckless and insane plan we've seen so far!

I just really hope someone comes up in the next few panels and just blasts Aranea to smithereens.

Noone's going to be straight up erased from existence even if Aranea goes through with her plan, for one because it'll be a doomed timeline where nothing beyond everyone involved getting slaughtered really matters, and for two, because they're all already there. Since they are there, it'll be a paradox if they suddenly have no origin, but the way Paradox Space deals with that is not just phasing dudes into thin air, no. They just all die unceremoniusly through whatever means and the paradoxical, doomed offshoot later withers into nothingness.

Which makes Aranea's bold plan of making the doomed offshoot the alpha timeline AND erasing English WHILE retaining everyone else sound like such a pipe dream. Does she really expect to manage all that?

yeah I know those are normally the rules! But Aranea is trying to rewrite the Alpha timeline. We don't know if she is truly capable of doing this, but if she does, her world of no Lord English suddenly becomes canon. I think it's a safe assumption that could have devastating effects on whatever came before her new present! We've already seen John with similar alpha-rewriting powers, so maybe this is another way to circumvent Paradox Space's typical rules.

I sure hope not, though! It's still a pretty dumb plan all around. Hopefully Aranea is thwarted by the rest of the crew or simply can't accomplish her goals for the reasons you've so obviously stated.

I don't think it'll work specifically because of John.

He said it himself, he can alter the Alpha timeline, but only because he now exists outside of it. He's not really part of time itself anymore.

Aranea, on the other hand, exists very firmly within the timeline, and by deciding to reincarnate, and not (like John did) remove herself entirely from it, her plan is doomed to failure.

In fact I'm pretty sure this is what Dave is gonna end up making sure of, guy might not use his time powers, but he's definitely gonna make sure that they're not all stuck in a doomed timeline.

Ah, my mistake then. Still, I have no doubt that this plan will either fail or cause some damage, no matter how much she tries to prevent that.

She may say she can heal the timeline so that it'll be the alpha timeline but I can't be sure that she can fix the timeline completely, she'd have to heal it from her interference all the way back to the first trolls' sessions, due to how involved English has been.

She may think her powers are that strong but I doubt it.

note: she would also have to, by the nature of the game, heal the Beta Kids universe, which bodaciously no longer exists at all in any timeline ever.
