The doomed Calliope is already dead, in the dreambubbles. She was from an alpha timeline, so she's already perished.
John, however, is a Beta that's destined to die. I have a feeling Denizens won't accept alphas unless they're significant to the beta timeline, like the John who was killed by Terezi.

No I mean that she might have already sacrificed herself, a possible callback to the Beta!John killed by Typheus

Also, I now think Aradia will be the one to defeat English, and that it was her that's already beaten her world and gotten to her denizen and made the choice to try and thwart the conqueror.
