That was the best way to utilize the fantrolls, imo.

Also, some notes: the interstellar cherub chase bears a striking resemblance to that of Bec Noir and PM! What a coincidence!

(the female's wings are also Hope symbols)

He did say they'd die as soon as they were introduced.

Now a question that will torment the fanbase for years to come.

Is this better, worse, or on par with the discussion on troll reproduction?

I honestly thought they would just die in the dreambubbles, but them dying in Aranea's exposition on the origin of the cherubs was so much better.

I'd be really freaking rustled if I spent that much cheddar to have my character killed off immediately.

Of course the moral of the story is don't spend cheddar on a fan troll but still.

Hussie did say that they would die right away, so I think the people that donated were expecting this, right?

They still had a chance to withdraw their donation I think.

The donation stage said they would get their fantrolls in the story.

The next donation stage said their trolls would survive their first appearance.

They knew what they were doing.

Aranea is probably describing Caliborn/Caliope's parents (unless the guy cherub in the story is LE) and how this caused Sburb/Sgrub to be a thing in the first place
