I...really don't like the variable gem placements thing. Something about it really rubs me the wrong way.

And the fact that fusions of the same gem just makes a bigger version of the same gem...kinda looks silly, but okay.

The only acceptable body part duplication for multiple rubies is more mouths per ruby for more screaming

I like the new implication to a lot of lines about fusion now.
Such as "Fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak gems stronger", because now we know of course Jasper would think that, because different types of gems fusing is almost completely unheard of. So the only gems that would fuse often would be gems who have a lot of duplicates, which are the lower-class, weaker gems. Three Rubies sounds really powerful, but they basically just decide to fuse at the hint of trouble, and they're taken down drastically easily. So same-type gem fusions are generally weaker simply because lower-tier gems are the only ones that fuse.

Not to mention "Is this what Homeworld thinks of fusion", because once again of course they do. Ruby and Sapphire's fusion was so heavily implied to have been maybe the first time two different gems had fused, and once the result joined their enemies and turned out to be maybe the strongest member of the group, of course they would experiment. But why would they subject their higher-class gems to fusing with other types of gems, especially with the social stigma? Solution: Forcibly fuse gem shards into horrifying abominations. Result: eldrich horror that is using the Earth as an egg.

Was not expecting Yellow Diamond to be an angry giraffe. But still, that's neat.

I was also expecting her to be at most a bit taller than Jasper but holy cow she's huge. Like I think she's taller than Opal, daisies.
