I never finished gurran lagann and only saw one or two episodes.

The comic is pretty enjoyable though and I know enough of the show to get it's jokes/play on the characters. It's very high energy so if that's not your thing then well

the story falls flat on it's face in the second part, and from their it gets more ridiculous and over the top.
overall i thought it was a fun ride.
