I dunno even if you like the show, getting pop flyin' meal toys is kinda odd. Like it'd still be weird if it was a guy going to get, say, Star Wars toys or something. Like I mean come on, they aren't even high quality. They're pop flyin' meal toys. It's not just scraping the bottom of the barrel, it's removing the bottom of the barrel, dipping it in rainbow paint, and then handing it out to trick children into getting food that really doesn't actually taste all that great.

The way I see it, if you're gonna get MLP toys, you may as well get the top of the line stuff. Like, gold plated fluttershys with diamond eye lasers or something and retractable sapphire claws.

I have never actually watched the show but I'm assuming that's how boners work.

Hey hey, the chicken nuggets (even if they don't actually contain chicken maybe probably) are delicious.

Don't let it get to you, pegasister.

Haters gon' hate.

say what now

I have seen the best and worst of the pony fandom.

'Pegasister' is actually one of the less facepalmworthy terms.

That is actually exactly how it works, congratulations.

Sometimes I think that the higher quality a pony toy is, the worse it looks.
I don't have any (nor do I intend to), but the brushable hair bullshit always looks off.
Molded plastic hair (like the McDonalds toys, for the manes at least) looks way better.

friendship is magic has the worst quality toys out of all the gens

this is a fact

as a collector of gen 1 boners, mostly Sweetheart Sisters, i really really really hate the FIM toys

especially since right off the bat most of them have molded hair. the fuck is that shit.

and then when they released FIM toys with hair the air is nasty as shit. ive got a Spring Song from the mid to late 80s thats been played with and still has gorgeous, sleek, soft-to-the-touch hair, not that shit what feels like plastic pubes.

plus the FIM toys just look overall dumb.

compare:
Image
the brushable twilight sparkle

VS

a high quality pic from an ebay auction of Spring Song
Image
and a fuzzy pic of my own Spring Song

my favorite thing about mlp has always been the toys rather than the cartoon

i even have a few early Gen 3 boners
ok more than a few

it makes me really sad that theres probably not going to be anything high quality regarding toys for this generation. the toyline is following after 3.5.

@OA: just that you think the molded hair is better is a sign of whats become of the toyline...

yeah but the whole point of the dolls and what made them so popular and different at the time was the fact you could brush and style their hair

that's pretty much their biggest selling point apart from "little girls like horses"

I guess this can probably be trace back to the fact that I am
you know
not a small girl.

I couldn't care less about brushing the hair.

...Of course, truthfully, I really couldn't care less about the toys, period.

I had around 50 My Little Ponies when I was a wee lad.

I also had around 50 Transformers.

I also had a heck of a lot of LEGO.

You wanna know what happened to my My Little Ponies?

I donated them to the day care/nursery my mother worked at (ages 3-5).

Care to take a guess who it was that mostly played with the My Little Ponies at the day care/nursery?

Mostly the boys.

*shrug*

Y'see - I guess they were free to explore playing with everything and anything in this environment - regardless of gender-based demographics.

What I'm trying to say is Hasbro isn't going to change their "formula for success" for nobody.

Like it or not the dolls are marketed at girls and the girls like to brush and style the pony hair.

An Abridged line comes to mind there, slightly edited.

Frieza: You know what the difference between you and I is? You can punch a pony and it will break in half. I can punch a pony and wipe out its entire race.

Well, there's obviously something about multicoloured ponies that pushes guys' buttons in this age range too.

I really don't see why it's such a big deal.

EDIT: Those wordfilters are becoming really tiresome to correct.
