I'm holding out hope that it'll be an adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy. Even if its not a good one it'll show that Disney knows where the good ideas are and isn't just milking the cash cow.

Fun Fact: You can find Jar Jar frozen in carbonite in one of the levels of The Force Unleashed.

And Lucas was at one point against going back and modifying movies. Studios were going back and colourizing old black and white films and Lucas led the charge against them. But yeah, then walkie talkies and blinking ewoks and fucking everything else. I'm pretty sure he's not going to let go without one last thing. He;s staying as a creative consultant but that's what he was on Red Tails and Indy Jones and the Crystal Skull. Crossing my fingers and toes he won't have much of an influence.

Bonus Sad Fact: The Force Unleashed was originally supposed to be the return of Republic Commando.

I'm not happy about this. Mostly because of the bitching. They couldn't make a movie good enough to shut people up.
I just need some lightsaber fights and I'll be happy. Get the company who did the Old Republic trailers to do a whole movie.

It's funny watching video game trailers on TV, my stepmom will say, every time, "That looks like it would be a cool movie." Yeah, it would, if the loving attention to detail that goes into commercial trailers went into feature-length video game adaptations.

that's kinda the thing. Lightsabers ruined star wars. Luke busted out the laser flashlight two maybe three times a movie. When he did though, that's when you knew he was about to kick some booty.
Blah blah prequels, lightsabers fucking everywhere. The fights were neat, but there was no passion in them, and with everyone swinging their own whuppin' stick it took a lot of the fun out of it. Would anyone want a Ferrari if everyone had one?

Er, prequels had many things wrong with them but their lightsaber fights had way more passion than the originals. Better choreographed, better effects, more "realistic" Force combat, etc.

Probably the only reason Lucas didn't stick lightsabers all over the old movies' dicks is because of the cost and time requirements of the special effects for them.

By the time the prequels came out, they could give everyone a glowing dildo.

I think we can all complain about everything Lucas has done to ruin Star Wars. But the fact of the matter is that other people now have a shot at doing something with Star Wars with Lucas only being there as a creative consultant. While it has yet to be determined how much influence he'll have, I'd like to think positive and focus on the possibility of them creating something I will love.

I really enjoyed the original trilogy. Doesn't matter how bad the prequels were, wont matter if the new movies are bad too. I'll still enjoy the originals.

I think lightsaber duels were good though when you couldn't see the details of their fighting.

Lightsaber battles aren't about the choreography and the effects. They are about the externalization of conflict and about what you don't see. So Darth Vader vs. Obi-Wan in Star Wars >>> the 40 minutes of flashy bullshit between Anakin and Obi in episode 3. And the Lightsaber battles between Luke and Vader in 5&6 are infinitely more interesting than anything in the prequels because it isn't just dudes prancing about smacking each other with neon dildos, it is about the character conflict.

I sort of don't like the style it was animated in, to cartoony and childish, in all the wrong ways.
