My first Doctor came back. It's been a while.

So is it true the 50th will only have Ten, Eleven, and Hurt, or is that just a rumor?

Judging by how secretive they kept the above's appearance...
...trust nothing.

The only thing that's basically a given is that Eccleston will not be in it because he wasn't really into it when he was the Doctor. A shame cause I liked 9. Too bad his actor didn't.

I'm actually kind of impressed how much Moffat fucked over continuity in just under 7 minutes.

Depends if you consider books and audio stories canon.

Forbes posted a nice article regarding The Doctor's appeal and the series' longevity.

SPOILERS FOR 50TH

I am SO GLAD that it wasn't actually Rose. Because fuck Rose.

The climax of the episode was really epic, and nicely managed to not fuck up the series continuity.

Although the scene in the gallery with Tom Baker was confusing.

Idk, I was somewhat disappointed that instead of celebrating the series it was moffat saying "HEY LOOK HERE'S WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN ON THE NEXT SEASON". I mean it only starred the current doctor, a previous doctor, a doctor that was pulled right out of the writer's booty, the current companion and an AI taking the shape of a previous companion but interacted with only one of those doctors.
Also it completely disregards the fact that Rassilion tried to murder the entire universe forever in the last non-holiday special.

Actually, The End of Time was a Christmas special. And do we really want to call attention to that pile of garbage?

There's probably a reason he froze the planet instead of just transporting it.

I love how this adds a new layer of twistedness to the scene in Journey's End where Dalek Caan says "No more."
