The villains this season are definitely high up on the intimidation scale. Thankfully we have Old Man Zuko te straighten them out!

Also: Tenzin is not a people person.

This show is going to make me hate an amputee. Technically another one. That's brutal.

The Earth Queen is seriously going for the "army forced to fight on her behalf against their will" ploy? I guess this is where they learn that any army of willing, motivated participants will be leagues better than any army of slaves.

I dunno about that. I can say from personal experience that slave armies can be quite effective.

Hey, what are the chances of Korra and Asami hooking up this season?

Yeah but you have to consider that these are scared people that don't know how to control their bending. Sure, they can wing it, but who does the Earth Kingdom even have that can effectively teach airbenders how to bend?

Also guess this will be the motivation Tenzin and Korra were lookin' for to get people to join the Air nomand nation: come be a monk with us or stay and be a mindless Dai Li-controlled slave forever!

I just made this connection but somehow I'd think Sokka would own up to them being his children.. I think it's really progressive to have Toph be a single mother, whose children have different fathers. Even if it's very sad for them not to know who they are.

Hey, remember in that A:TLA comic when Toph was training those kids to be metalbenders, and one of the first things she told them to do was move the coin?

So is anyone else bothered by the fact that the spirits seem to be nowhere EXCEPT Republic city? Save for BumJun, we haven't seen a single one outside of the city limits, and they came from the north pole, so it's not like Republic city is just the first place they ended up. They could have shifted their route by a couple degrees and gone into Ba Sing Se or something.

It is making me think they did the whole "Keeping the gates open!" plot device as a way to "revive the airbending nation" more than a way to do some actual shenanigans with the spirits. It's a shame to, I was hoping to see some plot points revolved around the benders and nonbenders rallying together to make sure some giant spider spirit doesn't eat everyone.

It'd even be a refreshing way for the citizens to show they don't need the avatar in a way that isn't "You're just screwing things up!"

..."You take care of the air nomads, we can handle some giant racnoss spider queen!"

...Show that the people aren't just assumptive dicks who constantly look to Korra as a means for blame.

Korra is moving to all digital now, in case you didn't know.

As you can see, the Korra game looks totally sweet.

FINALLY
BOLIN IS GETTING ACTUAL CHARACTERNESS AND SUCCESS
(and Varrik is fabulous as always).

I knew Mr. Polygraph wasn't to be trusted. The ones administering the lie detector tests never are.

I feel like there's a lot of stuff to resolve in the episodes they've got left
