Finally got around to seeing Age of Ultron. It was pretty good, and like many good villains I found myself seriously wanting more screentime for the title-bot. He's, uh, very snarky for a robot.

I liked how Ultron was played up less as evil robot and more as evil Tony Stark. It really created a neat interaction between them that I really wish they would have milked more of.

Is it as bad as every trailer and commercial makes it look?

The whole thing is a cautionary tale(OH JOY). They say that the world is going to shit in 58 days(which becomes a pointless time limit because it shows up like twice) and the main character is the chosen one because she's filled with HOPES and DREAMS! (OH. FUCKING JOY.) And then we're shown the most generic-booty bullshit of nuclear bombs going off and vegetation overgrowing everywhere.....in like two months. So the whole cause of the problem is, get this, to try and prevent the future where the world dies, they invent a machine that subliminally shows everyone in the past the terrible future(THE ILLUMINATI IS REAL) and instead of trying to prevent it, we EVIL HUMANS decide to embrace this future. Subliminally. So the bad future is happening because we were shown the bad future, which makes us want the bad future, which leads to the bad future. I.....WHAT?!?!?!? And what's the cause of this bad future that we apparently want? "You know it is video games and television and politics and the corporations and obesity and starvation at the same time" and on and on and ON AND ON AND ON, and it just feels like a confused ramble. And yes. Video games and the television cause.....nuclear bombs. But not to worry! As long as there are people filled with HOPE and LOVE and DREAMS and WONDER and DISNEY MAGIC, we can save the future! Oh and we see like ten minutes of Tomorrowland. It is generic and boring. Also the love interest is a robot that looks like a 12 year old girl. And this is somehow considered creepy as fucking hell.

So yeah, pretty bad.

I could have seen Mad Max.

But I was with my family and didn't want to make them wait forever for that one to end.

I CHOSE MY FAMILY OVER MY HAPPINESS AND I CHOSE WRONG.

I honestly think my favourite moment is when their similarities are pointed out and Ultron goes fucking nuts, tearing off Klaue's arm, and then apologises like it was nothing.

Okay so I went and saw Mad Max on my day off.

Fucking EVERYBODY had the same idea.

Also, I accidentally showed up for a 3D screening and a normal one wouldn't be on for another two hours.

Despite all of these setbacks, I still managed to enjoy what will most likely be the most bitchin'est movie of the year.

My only disappointment was the fact that Max's iconic car and shotgun only made brief cameos. I thought for sure when his Interceptor showed up in the final chase, he'd find a way to commandeer it. But I'm sure there's some symbolism regarding this being a new franchise and all.

Did anybody notice that the same actor played Immortan Joe and Toecutter from the original?

I think that's an awesome detail

I just saw it for a second time with my family.
They loved it

Johnny Quest live action film found it's director today in the form of Robert Rodriguez. Also some "leaked" footage shows off Jokers car in Suicide Squad.
*Edit also a League of Extraordinary Gentleman is getting a Reboot.

mad max might be the first movie i have ever seen that one hundred percent embraced "show, don't tell", told me goddamned nothing but showed everything i needed to know

anyway other than that it's easily the best movie i've seen. ever. it's criminally underhyped. it's exactly what the medium should be, in every way.

my only disappointment was that immortan joe just sorta died, it was a little anti-climactic that he just kinda went "blech" then that was it. but even then, that might be the point, so hey.
