The Book of Life's artistic style really grabbed me and I still enjoyed it the most while I watched it, but the story itself was very disappointing nearing the end of the movie. It's like the movie got confused about what is being progressive about a female character and thenforcing them to be pressured into a shotgun wedding, and then the ending I did not feel pleased with at all, it completely took me out of being immersed. But still, I really really really really loved the art.

Finished re-watching Treasure Planet and it’s cinematic gold as always.
I really can’t say what I like most about it, the pirates, the ships, the planets, the music, the characters. Can’t decide.

I just really love these kinds of movies. At some points in the movie, I was just awestruck by the animation.

I want to go through these older animated movies and watch them. It'll happen slowly but I swear I am going to watch the gems of animated movies.

I am in very high spirits after watching it.

So everyone should immediately go see Nightcrawlers. It's goddamn amazing

Also John Wick if you like crazy action movies, or Keanu Reeves (like how I do)

That guy at the beginning is wearing the outfit from Spaceballs sans helmet, I swear to god. I thought it was a joke at first.

Also Sith lightsaber with dumb tiny hand guards?????????

Maybe I'm at the age where I hate everything new.

Whatever, I'll still go see it.

The non-film Star Wars works burnt through their fair share of good unique lightsaber designs. There could be another gimmick to it aside from those guards. Star Wars Rebels has a cool double-lightsaber design where the blades spin around the hilt and it can be used as a highly effective throwing weapon. Maybe this one has its own extra trick?

It might look dumb but 100% practical

EDIT: After rewatching the trailer, it's actually not. It would be if there weren't metal protruding where the attacking lightsabe would slide down the blade. What the fuck

as it is now the attacking blade would probably slice through the metal piece and cut off the defenders hand, unless the laser part continues down the metal parts like a big cross i dunno

CONCEPT WISE it's fine because jedi's got their hands cut off all day erry day

Well, those Force Unleashed storm troopers had some anti-lightsaber metal, maybe that's why the design is being used.

I'm cautiously optimistic, I guess. It would be neat to have a space opera on the big screen again. Disney has made some good movies lately, so I'm hopeful.

Disney makes everything Marvel-related now, Disney BOUGHT Marvel.
Or at least I'd assume that Disney is involved in the production at some point.

Maybe they're trying extra hard not to ruin the things they buy so people won't hate them

They've got the talent and cheddar to make good movies. They're big on their brand, so it makes sense for them to focus on quality. Wasn't JJ Abrams tapped to direct this movie?
He's better than Lucas, at least.

Actually, Sony owns the rights to Spiderman.
