Yeah that was pretty disappointing. They completely threw out the family drama with Rogue/Mystique/Nightcrawler, certainly one of the more interesting family relationships within the marvel universe. It might never be acknowledged since it would go against how the first movie showed both of rogue's parents and Mystique seemed of have no reaction to her. That and the actor who played Nightcrawler, Alan Cummings? He doesn't want to reprise the role because he hated the make up.

Kudos to Romijn-Stamos for sitting through that make-up for 3 movies, and Jennifer Lawrence too, though I don't think she actually spent as much screen time being blue as Romijn-Stamos did.

And, yes both the animated series from the early 90s and the X-men: Evolution series acknowledged the link between Nightcrawler and Mystique.

I'd heard that the guys behind Secret of Kells were working on another movie. It looks amazing.

I'm exited by all these animated movies coming out this year, it will be hard deciding what is the best.

The Rooster Teeth Crew is making their own independent movie. They're pretty much going to reach their goal (I chipped in myself) in a few hours as of this writing. Here's the basic premise:

Rooster Teeth wrote:
In the late 1970's, the Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence project received a one time signal from outer space. It looked exactly as theorists thought a communication from an alien civilization would -- unfortunately it has never been decoded. Or so we were told. Unbeknownst to the general public the signal was translated and told us two things:

We are not alone.
The galaxy is a dangerous place.

Our story is live action sci-fi comedy that takes place decades later in the aftermath of this event.

I found I really liked the new X-men save for a couple things. Perhaps my knowledge of the comics is lacking but I can't understand why, of all people, Kitty fukkin' Pryde is sending people back in time.

Also the thing with Magneto apparently being a borderline insane flip-flopper. "No you can't kill the human, I'll kill you to stop it! Wait...aw screw it, Imma kill all the humans!" Quicksilver having nothing to do during the latter half of the movie was disappointing too, he was this movie's Gambit and it made me sad.

I made funny noises during the after-credits teaser.

@ Otherwise:In the original comic it was a psychic by the name of Rachel Summers who sent Kitty Pryde's psyche back into her younger body.

They didn't use kitty because they set the movie before she was born (in the movie-verse) and probably because Wolvie's their cash cow.
Of course this doesn't explain why kitty had the magic ability to send people back in time... Choices like that make it very hard for me to like the movie-verse.
