Went to see The Hobbit 2 and I enjoyed it very much. Benedict Cumberbatch's great voice acting combined with the way Smaug moved made the entire sequence where he spoke to Bilbo a truly frightful experience.

Unlikely that there will be more Tolkien movies after this since Warner Bros are huge dicks.

Just saw Hobbit 2 and while it pretty good I do feel as though if Peter Jackson had cut out the extra stuff that just seemed to pad the movie then we could have had the Smaug fight/death happen in this movie.

I mean did we really need to spend so much time watching orcs fight on the plains, in the woods, on the river, and in the town? Plus the whole "encase Smaug in gold" plan that took up a chunk of time and had zero effect on him.

I agree that there was too much padding. I wish there was a way to go to another dimension to see the original two-movie version of The Hobbit that was proposed.

I'll be seeing Hobbit 2 with my sisters this Saturday since we all got movie tickets for Christmas. Now I just need to finish the first one, I've seen about half of it.

Shame that it's only available in HFR in 3D.

I really like Love Is An Open door but after what happened I feel like I shouldn't any more.

Hobbit 2 was generally enjoyable. The biggest point reductions come from the cringe-worthy forced romance, the sometimes iffy CGI and for the love of god, the next time you're making an epic fantasy film, don't get a fotm pop artist to do the end song.

I enjoyed Hobbit 2: Hobbit Harder
It was lots of fun

I do not understand the Dwarves gold plan. What the hell were they trying to do?

I think they did that to pad the movie a bit more for a trilogy instead of just two movies.
That aside, do YOU know anything that can survive liquid gold? Not that my first idea to slay a dragon would be "smelt gold" but hey these are dwarves we're talking about here.

Make him look like the book actually describes him.

Then about ten seconds later he flies into the air and spins around, getting all of it off him instead of what would actually happen, which is go up briefly and then bring his booty down hard because gold is extremely heavy.

Meh, it is still an amazing song. I don't think the end result has any negative effect. If anything, it makes it better.

Which I would have gladly accepted if the gold had stayed stuck on him but since so much time was devoted to it and it ended up being completely shaken off I got irritated at the blatant padding.
