The general consensus is that David Tennant was the worst doctor ever, the equivalent of acting shit, and Colin Baker is god.

actually no nobody believes any of those things

I think a lot of people are just anally aggravated that Tennant left, which is why they dislike Matt. I mean, he's not the best, but he's not a massive step down like people say. Part of the blame goes to Moffat, who excels at bad writing when he is in charge of the entire series.

you ALMOST had me until the Colin Baker

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. Matt Smith is definitely a step down from Tennant, but despite being impaired by the writing, his acting can be really convincing and emotional at times. Or maybe my opinions are unpopular and i'm lame but

11 would be so much better if he didn't dress like a history professor in his 70s.

I'm a bit excited for 12, but Matt signed on for the 2014 season, so he's definitely hanging around for a bit longer.

I profoundly disagree with this "Moffat is a bad writer" opinion that seems to dominate this thread, as does a seeming majority of internet-savvy viewers based on the IMDB scores for the various episodes.

I will agree that his ideas are usually too big for the amount of episode time he has, so things often seem rushed or are concluded unsatisfyingly. And I really don't care for the 'Timey Wimey Ball' as used in Blink and The Big Bang.

He's certainly a better showrunner than Russel T Davies, who was good at character and ideas but struggled with the actual scripts.

I think if anything Moffat would do better if he was running a tighter series with a clear arc through it. Give him a Miracle Day style thing and I reckon we'd see his best.

The Smith/Moffat combination produces a consistently, objectively better product than the Tennant/Davies team. They're very different so I'm not remotely surprised that it can be polarising.

Yes, if they can somehow account for a chained up Dalek escaping a planet that was immediately blown to pieces after the Doctor escaped. Somehow I doubt they installed their prisoners with emergency temporal shifts.

Actually, that part was the one I was most sceptical of. But if they wanted to they'd find something, like Davros saving this very interesting specimen or something.
The part I found most interesting is all the references to Rose though. And she is kinda impossible. Living in at least 3 different time periods with no recollection of the others.

I know it's hard to believe, but there are still such things as facts.

there definitely is facts yes nobody is denying that facts are things that exist, you could say that their existence is factual, even though you'd be technically wrong because facts existing is not open to potential change so it's technically a truth but that's not the point

the point is saying your opinion is a fact is highly arrogant and actually, ha ha here we go, factually wrong due to the nature of opinion

there is nothing supporting your opinion as fact, especially as this is part of the art form of visual media which is by nature highly subjective and generally applied worth differently by each person making the concept of something being better or worse objectively get thrown right out of the fucking window

also moffat is stupid and your opinion is stupid

Cody that came off as pretty assholeish, tbh

Galaxy you did to but I still want to high five you

OPINYUNS ERRYWHUR

In actual relevant Doctor Whoness, part of the 50th Special was filmed in Trafalgar Square with the TARDIS suspended in midair from a crane with stunt double Doctor hanging off the bottom and stunt double Clara standing just inside the doors looking out.

Spoilers for Adric: Worry not! He dies in a nuclear fireball and it is immensely gratifying.
