Coraline was way too over-hyped for me, so when I finally got the chance to watch it, it was a total let down. Maybe it was just because of the computer I was watching it on, but at parts the animation seemed to move very jerky, it wasn't flowing right. I loved the mouse circus parts though.

I was the exact opposite. I went in expecting it to be bad, but I enjoyed it. The animation was one of my favorite things. It was probably just your computer.

What's wrong with the cinemas? You contracted vampirism or something?

Or, y'know. Your video/DVD rental store.
I should have clarified by the time I finally got the chance to watch it, it was out of threaters. :U I did rent it though, I just watched it on the computer.

Has anyone else here seen 'The Commitments'?

It's a great movie, if you like Soul Music.
Go watch it.

Kinski is the fuckin man.

Though Herzog is twice the fuckin man.

Unrelated, I watched Wild Strawberries recently. Fantastic.

Anybody watch Where Them Wild Things Are?
Is it a romantic comedy?
Not too sure if I should 'whip it out' in the theater.

I had no idea Coraline was based on a book, but now that I think of it, it should have been obvious. It had a lot of those slightly-out-of-place sounding lines that just scream "we're quoting the book now guys".

On a related note, I just HATE about trailers and previews that give too much away. Imagine watching something like Coraline (although this example doesn't really work now that I know it was based on a book, but whatever) and not knowing how must of the movie would happen. It would have been MUCH better. Instead, when I watched it, for half of the movie I was just thinking "Okay yeah so when is the other world going to turn out to be evil like the previews said."

There are other movies that this happened with, but I don't feel like trying to think of one right now.

I read the book and it was pretty creepy. But I adored the Movie. I love the animation and the colors.

I really wanted to see Where the Wild Things are on premiere day but I had no one to take me there I was going to wear a crown to it :'c

I really liked Rocky, the Rambo series, Mirror Mask, and especially Amelie.

I'm totally looking forward to eventually seeing that movie.

Unless, ya know... I forget to see it.

Batman Forever. That style of the bat costume is a pretty big giveaway.
