OK, this I wasn't aware of. That will probably annoy me more than anything else in the movie.

Watched Wolf Children Ame & Yuki

It was very good but... I didn't like it. I guess it's because I don't like movies that make me cry a lot and I really disliked Ame; I felt that he became very cold by the end and the way he treated his mother seemed so cruel.

I actually really liked that movie. Ame's behaviour seemed to be to be caused by the fact that he's more of a wolf and doesn't feel like he can stay in the human world.

It's a movie that hits you right in the feels.

It wasn't him living as a wolf that bothered me, it was how he became so antagonistic towards his family that broke my heart. I knew that he wasn't going to stay in the human world but I didn't expect him to treat his sister and mother the way he did.

Idk maybe there's something I'm not getting

Wolves are known to leave their pack when they are sexually mature.That might have something to do with it. I figured it made him lash out and fuel his desire to get away from them.

I suppose so yeah. I guess the big thing for me was him almost getting his mom killed by running away was what ultimately made me dislike him.

Saw Oblivion the other day

Definitely think it failed at a lot of what it was going for, but I still really enjoyed it. Definitely had more creativity going for it than the fucking 4th Spiderman reboot or whatever comic they're still milking

I definitely thought they could do more with the ending, although they were already stretching the time out. Specifically, I would have liked to know what happened to the rest of the clones after the Tet got blown up

I really really really liked the new Star Trek movie.

I am now a Benedict Cumberbatch fan.

I watched Alien for the first time the other day.
I think time and Prometheus had kinda ruined it a bit for me.


Still, what's your guys' opinions on the sequels? Watch or don't?

I honestly didn't like any of the sequels, not even Aliens but that's because I just don't like James Cameron

A lot of people like Aliens. It's just important to keep in mind that it's a fun action movie, not a masterfully crafted horror piece like the first film

Aliens is an amazing action move, okay horror.
Alien 3 is a bit harder to pin down, the original cut is absolutely terrible, but the director's cut is pretty decent.
Resurrection is terrible, but depending on how much of an Alien fan you are it might be worth a shot.

and you might want to take another stab at Alien. Watch it alone, in the dark, with a good pair of headphones. It's a movie that excels at building an atmosphere and the more you get drawn in, the better it gets. The deleted scenes are also most definitely worth a view, they fill in a lot of plot points and are generally really interesting.

Honestly, Alien is the only real masterpiece of the series. Turning the xenomorphs into locusts made them a bit too sci fi for my tastes, I prefered the horror approach of the first movie.
