I didn't "hate it" per se, but it kinda confused me about why people were so into the show before I started watching. I don't even necessarily think that owning a pony shirt or something tame makes you a heretic(not that I own a shirt, but still). I mean, I freaking love Batman and even have a Batman shirt, but that doesn't mean I write Batman fan fiction or ship him with the Joker or make overly sexualized fan art of him.

I didn't hate it either, I was just neutral (probably because I did like the toys when I was little). It was after I found out that Lauren Faust was behind FiM that I decided to check it out.
Only merch that I own is a shirt I've never worn and a Pinkie Pie keychain on my purse

It does annoy me a bit that every time someone finds out I like the show they immediately think I'm a heretic, even though all I do is watch the show and look at fan art once in a blue moon

I got into it because curiosity got the best of me. I started watching when Season Two first premiered, right around the time the heretic craze was at an all time high. There were just so many people going on and on and on about this show that I figured there must be something to it.

I found out about it through a friend when he was browsing 4chan. He was like what's with all this my little pony shit? After about 5 minutes of investigating, I found out it was made by Lauren Faust. I loved PPG and Foster's so I checked it out that night. I was in love by episode 3. When I started watching, I think Sonic Rainboom was the newest episode so like, mid february of 2011?... Oh god. I've been watching this show for 2 years.

I started to really like it around the time I watched Dragonshy, and I think by Winter Wrap Up or Suited for Success I was thinking "DANG MAN. THAT MUSIC. I LOVE THIS SHOW."

Yeah, the music was most definitely what kept me watching. That early music was just too good.

i also hate it because it implies every person who watches mlp hated the fuck out of it before they liked it

You kinda have a point.
But you have to admit that this is one of the most dramatic fanbases nowadays...

I didn't hated the show when I first saw the images ( If I'm not mistaken this forum was one of the first places where I saw people talking about MLP: FIM) I just thought it was just another bad little girl's cartoon that people were watching because it was so bad that it was good. It goes without saying I was wrong about it.

Speaking of music, the finale is a musical.

I gotta admit...

I'm not fond of musicals.

I'm down with a musical.

This season's been kind of lacking in memorable music. Let's see what they've got.

Oh, for sure. The songs they had this season weren't bad. I didn't hate them. They just left absolutely no impression.

I liked the music from the season premiere, but yeah, the music this season hasn't been as good as before. Raise This Barn in particular I just don't like, it feels so simple and uninspired.

The Cutie Mark song for tomorrow's episode is pretty dang catchy though.

I think the one I liked the most was the Babs Seed song, closely followed by the premiere songs, which were the only thing good about those episodes aside from a few scenes BUT ANYWAY. Compare those songs to, say, Becoming Popular. I was humming that shit for several days after.

Art of the Dress. Best song. Just try to refute that claim, I dare you.

Wait, no, the This Day Aria.

Wait, no, the Find A Pet Song.

Wait, no....
