South Park is an astonishingly hilarious show, and I honestly think it deserves it's own thread

I just finished grey dawn (S7, Ep10), by god I laughed my booty off the entire time.

Their episode about hate crime actually had a very large impact on my personal views. I also like how they respond to awards/acclaim.

I hate Comedy Central for the fact that they censored "200" and "201" to save their own asses. The executives were just trying to save their own asses rather than letting Trey and Matt roll with the punches. Then again, this is Viacom, so it's nothing new.

Seriously, though, it is utterly pathetic that a few TV execs get so threatened that the terrorists don't even have to do anything.

The German Comedy Central shows the episodes in no order, so it's possible that you see one of the very early episodes and then right after it one of the newest season. It's rather interesting to see just how nuts the first season was and how it got more of a parody and critique show.

One of my favorite episodes is the Inception parody, that was pretty genius how they pulled it off. It just hits the viewer so hard with the realisation, and the developers exactly knew when it was going to hit, so they have one of the scientists trying to "sing" the theme song.
The mormon parody was also good, that was one of the best songs ever.
And there's also this one episode where Stan and his dad build a derby car and because of his dad stealing the newest technology advance, the car just flies into space with warp speed.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand of course the episode with Canada, where the princess got kidnapped by tooth decay during the wedding ceremony. What a horrible day for Canada, and of course for the world.

Well what with all the mocking of religions, ethnic groups, LGBQ community, occasional rape jokes, very elaborate jokes about private parts, politics, science and whatever else I can't think of now, I can see how people feel upset about it.

Sure there is a fine line to when it's still comedy or plain out offensive, but personally I think it's overreacting because South Park really only is parody and not intended to be serious. But then again there are some things which feel like the developers wanted to make you think about certain topics.

Oh my god I love South Park. I haven't been able to catch most of the recent episodes, though. There was this one that I saw though, last season maybe, where it was a parody of I Shouldn't Be Alive and it was about them being really bored while zip-lining. It was sort of a standard episode until SUDDENLY! everyone was live action. I just couldn't control my laughter when this happened.

But uh, my all-time favorite episode wasn't even a parody or mocking anyone. It was the episode where they were playing Little League, and kept trying to lose so that they could stop playing. But then it turned out that everyone else wanted to lose. I don't even know.

The princess of Canada episode was great and so was the Mormon one, but my absolute favorite was the World of Warcraft episode.

Those are all really good ones.

I have a soft spot for the Butter themed episodes.

The entire Imaginationland set by far was amazing, but would have been more awesome if Professor Chaos showed up, as well as Stan and the gang's ninja counterparts and they had a massive battle of ridiculous awesomeness.

I really like the show, and I LOVE the movie.
And I hate to be that guy but the older episodes are a lot better to me. But still good.
Matt and Trey are some of the best people alive.

I was really worried after Book of Mormons success that they'd move on out of the south park territory.

I remember when this show was new, like JUST coming out and the shit storm that it caused.

But you compare it to now, where they do things a hundred times more outrageous, and people just kinda shrug it off and say "That's South Park!"

I love how the movie parodied the controversy by using Terrance and Phillip as a stand in for their movie, since they knew kids were going to go see it "because South Park" and would then get in trouble with their parents when the parents found out (because they'd get caught talking about it, swearing, etc.).

Even better was the Oscars that year when Matt and Trey went in designer dresses.

I just have to pick that as my favorite moment in South Park, just because of the sheer genius of how they made that movie.
