I know this was mostly a joke, but I hope you don't mind me putting in my two cents about Pearl, mostly aimed as a response to last Monday's episode

Pearl is way too overdramatic as a character. I know they try to make her off as protective of Steven but at the same time broken-hearted over Rose giving up her form for Steven to be born, but it seems to cross the line from "good expression of character" to "unnecessary crying about Steven's wellbeing/Rose being gone" quickly. I was actually pretty pop flyin' when Rebecca lampshaded it in Say Uncle by making her seem so crazed and ridiculous.

If not for this the show would be absolutely perfect.

her reactions are pretty realistic considering rose only "died?" a few years ago. gems live for thousands of years, to her, it's only been a very short time since rose "died???" and steven was born. even worse, if you consider that rose basically committed suicide for steven to live. she's distraught that the person she fought for and loved for so ridiculously long not only fell for someone else, but left in order to create someone else entirely.

she's still in the mourning period, especially since she felt so close to rose, and she's trying to come to terms with rose being gone and steven not being the same person. contrast with greg, where for him, it's been a much longer time simply because his life isn't as long as the gems. he's managed to get over rose's loss and accept steven as his own person.

Plus, maybe some people just are more expressive and have a harder time controlling their emotions, especially their negative ones.

I'm gonna take the wheel of this thread and drive it straight into the irredeemable trash pile and ask about gemsonas because I love gemsonas.

I don't have a gemsona for myself but I did make gemsonas for my two main OCs.

but there already is watermelon tourmaline, it's the pufferfish thing from the beach episode.

I would make a gemsona except i don't know anything about gems and don't care enough to find out enough to make the character good if i was to try.

There are several clues within the show that there are multiple gems who share the same kind of gemstone.

I mean, we're talking about an entire planet of aliens based on gemstones, for starters, and it would be silly to think that there are only a few hundred Gems on the entirety of Homeworld.

Plus, when we see Jasper for the first time she addresses Pearl as 'a lost, defective Pearl' and we've seen no evidence that the two knew each other before meeting on the shore. Pearl didn't seem to have any idea who Jasper was.

There's another clue but it's based on fanon at the moment so I won't mention it.
