 MONSTER HUNTER 3 [tri]
ok, most people prob'ly haven't played this but i've been a hardcore monster hunter fan for about 2 years, tops. i'm requesting that katie- erm, 'awkward zombie,' should try this game out. it takes time, believe me, but it's well worth it. there's both a story mode and an online team-based hunting server. some fanatics try and get all the best armor purely online, which is actually hard to do. i doubt she'll see this, but katie, you should try this game! and do a comic. yesss. lotsss of comicsssesss...

Heard of it, never owned it. And we already have a couple of monster hunter threads that died out because there wasn't a whole lot to talk about after a while.

And Nitro is right, Twilight Princess came out way before MH3.

I have this game. Been marginally successful, but after the first Lagriacus hunt I hit a brick wall, haven't been able to progress since.

Not an unknown game by any means. It sold very very well. I remember playing with BoN more than a few times. Mainly used Bowguns, Lances and man-made armors like Alloy and Steel.

I need to pick this game up again and finish a bunch of armors and weapons but I have too many other newer games taking up my time (D3 and Tera)

ok, when i say 'same time' i mean that they were RELATIVELY close in releases, and twilight princess foreshadowed mh3 by a large margin.

also, @Mr. Mander, if you're a sword & shield user, a set i found useful was the steel set, plus rhenoplos greaves, plus a hunter's cap, complete with the s&s you make from the great baggi. cant remember the name...

I really think you're confused. They were not 'relatively close' in their releases at all. Even one or two years is a big enough time gap to seperate games into different categories and generations. Twilight Princess had been out for quite some time before MH3 was even announced. There was no overshadowing involved between those two games. If anything, Spirit Tracks came out closer to the release of MH3.

Anyway, I played the demo at one point. What kind of weapons did you guys like best out of all the options?

I think I mainly used the Greatswords. I was rubbish at using everything else. It's been over a year since I last touched the game though.
