AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Seeing as how the game is one of today's daily deals on Steam, I figured it was time to make a thread about the greatest (or at least most entertaining) space flight sim out there.

You play as the Kerbals, a race of humanoids who are starting their own space program, roughly analogous to NASA in real life.
And much like NASA, you are going to experience some spectacular failures.



For example, on my second rocket design, I apparently made a fucking good one because I managed to make it to Mun (the Kerbal moon). I had obviously not made any landing gear, due to not anticipating getting anything more than a low Kerbin orbit.

It was then that I tried pressing the button labelled "EVA"



I should not have done that.





Intrepid astronaut Bob Kerman was (and still is) trapped in a wide orbit around his home planet.
Forever.



So, anyone else own the game? Post your screenshots, art, mission accounts here if you want.

Can you send up a rescue mission?

You pushed a button marked EVA. What did you expect to happen? The ship to turn into a giant mecha?

There is no rescue.
Only mercy.
Drive straight into him and put him out of his misery.

Gonna show this game to my dad, who used to work at NASA.

That's actually entirely possible from what I've heard. Incredibly difficult though.

He'll probably be confused by the "add tons of fins/wings and anything becomes flyable" glitch/exploit

You may be wondering what's so special about that image.

The answer, of course, is that the plane pictured has no engine. Due to the wonky air physics, you can fly solely by moving your flaps up and down.

I've built a three-stage rocket with as many boosters as I could fit, and I still can't achieve escape velocity.

You just need to position your orbit with any one of the handy tools they've given you so it aligns with Bob's, then you can simply have him jetpack to your rocket ship and bamboozle out of that pee pee stained heck hole

I don't mean to sound insulting but I will have to ask you this:

Are you trying to fly your rocket straight up.

Of course not.

I know space things.

When do you figure it'll launch?
The anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch is tomorrow, but the actual moon landing is the day after.
