So, yeah, the Playstation Vita came out today and I decided to use my billion Best Buy gift cards and buy it. It seems pretty great so far! The UI is a bit... Apple-Like, for lack of a better word, but it's bearable.

As usual with the launch of handhelds, the majority of the games are ports, but SUCH IS LIFE. At least they're ports of good games, though hopefully the original games will start coming up soon.

It's convenient that every game is available for download, but at the same time they take up so much memory that it's probably more convenient just to buy them. Unless you want to buy a bunch of memory cards. Which... you'd have to go into a store to do anyway.

Having fun with it so far, though! Holding the system, so far, feels a -lot- more comfortable than holding the PSP. It was almost as if it was designed with human hands in mind. CRAZY. I'm currently downloading BlazBlue because I DUNNO I want a portable fighting game for some reason and I already bought MvC3 twice.

Anyone else plan to pick one of these up?

I'll be picking one up next Friday, Uncharted looks good.

I'm kind of torn, while I do have the cheddar and the system looks promising, I'm not sure if I should get it yet. The only thing I'd do on it, for about 2 months, is download a bunch of PS1 games off PSN and play them.

you can't play PS1 classics on a vita yet, as far as I can tell.

If you aren't going to be playing any PSP/Vita games on it i'd put it off for a while. Main reason I went ahead and bought mine was just because I didn't get a PSP so i've got a small pile of things already lined up while I wait for more vita games to play.

In the store, the PS Classic section has a little icon of the Vita now, so I'd assume you can.

It isn't in the store for the vita, so I still don't think it's possible. yet, anyway.

then again I may be wrong, i'm not really 100% sure about how this all works so far.

Gravity Daze/Rush looks pretty awesome, and honestly my main reason for getting one is Persona 4 Golden.

I still need to get into that series. Anybody have all two thousand installments I can borrow?

I can't help you with SMT as a whole (i've been meaning to play other ones like devil survivor but I can never be assed to) but the first three personas are on the PSP, as well as the vita's PSN (for like forty bucks a pop though, what the fuck) and as I said earlier 4's getting ported/remade/whatever soon too.
