Has any looked at this game? Interesting, to be honest.

One summary:
Rickypedia wrote:
In From Dust, players assume a god-like first-person perspective from which they manipulate an archipelago environment in an effort to save, and enlighten, a nomadic tribe.[12] With a spherical cursor, the user controls certain types of matter, namely soil, lava, water, in real time. Lava cools to form solid rock, vegetation propagates in soil and spreads naturally once a village is built, and moving water quickly erodes terrain. Physical changes to the world occur extremely rapidly, allowing players to restructure islands within minutes.

There are some trailers at steam too.

Hits PC 17. August.
Also XBLA and PSN.

Bought it, all I got left is some memories and the challenges. It's really fun, and very pretty to look at it.

what's really cool is the way water and land work together.

so like there's the second island you get to in the demo

and it's got this geyser thing, right?

always spewing water

well it pushes the dirt around it out, and it actually spreads the ground out

so eventually you get this awesome looking floral beach-like area that just spreads out

and if you let it spread out

it eventually creates the bridge to the next area on it's own

and then just gets CONSUMED by plants and shit

while it's still spreading

so it turns like what's three separate islands

into one giant island.

The only bad thing about this game so far is that it's kinda way too linear

but i'm just on the third part of the demo

so i dunno it might get better?

seems worth the cash though.

Finished the demo in spite of not having beaten DA2.

It was really fun, and the landscapes were beautiful. Just like Galaxy Man said, the way the water and land play with/against each other is an awesome mechanic, and if you left it alone, probably would build bridges for you on it's own. But on the third stage of the demo, tsunamis begin to happen periodically, every seven minutes or so, that erode chunks of the land, "restarting" the level in a sense. Land you've taken will still be gone, and land you've placed may have washed away, so if you spend to much time working on making a path for your villagers to take it'll all be for naught.

My big qualm with the game is that it doesn't feel as though there could be much content beyond the demo. It almost feels as though once you've done it once, you know what to expect. There are areas beyond the demo, obviously, but your objectives would remain exactly the same throughout the entirety of the game.

All-in-all, the fifteen dollar price tag is fair, I'd say.
