Come on guys. OPINIONS AND ARGUMENTS.

5.) Tales of Symphonia- Definitely my first realmajor RPG game and what I compare every other RPG to. It was kind of cliche, but it was basically the longest game I ever played and I fell in love with the battle system. Nice characters, a few good plot twists, etc. The sequel sucked, but whatevs.

4.) Super Smash bros. Melee/Brawl- Melee was definitely my favorite iteration, but you can't exactly pick just one Smash game. Most fun I've ever had with a game, period.

3.) Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga- Probably the one game that I was most excited for. The whole series is good, and while Bowser's Inside Story might be a little better, it can't top the original. One of the best battle systems an RPG can offer, funny, great characters, and probably one of the most underrated storylines ever.

2.) Super Mario Galaxy- The best Mario game. Great soundtrack, great idea, great execution. Basically as soon as I was done I wanted to erase my memory of playing the game and just play it all again. So good.

1.) The Wind Waker- Greatest Zelda game ever. Ot was the first 3-D Zelda that I completed, and wow was I blown away. It had the most riveting story of any of the Zelda games, and the characters felt so real and the world even more realistically bizarre...Also, it was very emotional. I didn't cry because I'm a man, but there were things that I felt. I can't deny how much I love this game.

So I'm a Nintendo fag but whatever, what about you guys?

5) Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. My favorite Zelda game.

4) Tales of Symphonia. For the obvious reasons that this game is fucking incredible.

3) Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Story was fun and the game was too.

2) Final Fantasy X: Probably one of the best games I've played.

1) Pokemon series. This is basically my favorite series ever. EVER.

lol I'm an RPG fag.

BUT

1. Tales of the Abyss. I could rant on this all day but TL;DR version: it is fucking amazing oh lord especially with characters.

2. Skies of Arcadia: Legends. I don't care if it's cliche, sky pirates rock and it's a really sweet game. Also, "Impossible is just a word people use to make themselves feel better when they quit." is a great quote.

3. Harvest Moon 64. I'm a big HM fan, but this was one of the first console games I ever owned and I loved playing it with my sister. And, once I got the greenhouse I just had a never ending cheddar supply, and that was awesome.

4. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Also a big nostalgia game. I loved playing it with my sister as a kid, and it was so cute. And aah it was so fun, I loved that game.

5. Tales of Symphonia. I guess it's not all that great of a game, but it was amazing the first time I played it, and it actually introduced me to Sailor Moon way back when. So it's got a special place in my heart.

AGH! DON'T PUT ME ON THE FOOKN' SPOT!
um...
Metal Gear Solid 3: I love this game because it never broke flow once. It was a continuous struggle twords a goal that you wern't sure that you would even be able to complete (killing the Boss). The writing, while rather murky, was griping with diverse characters that you actualy wanted to listen to (Except for Zero because he's boring AND british)

Shadow Of Colossus: I haven't played a game since SOTC that truely wowed me like it did. The perfectly desolate atmosphere along with a compeling minimalist story were enough to hook me instantly. Also, the game never overstayed it's welcome. It was the perfect length. Factor in the tight controls, impressive (but rather choppy) graphics, and thought provoking narrative, and you have a classic.

Soul Calibur 2: I guess the only explanation I have for this one is that it's the best fighting game I have ever played. It dosn't bog you down with insanely difficult controls and the characters are diverse and well balanced.

Killer7: I love this game because of how much of a fucking trip it was. You never knwe what was going to happen next save for the fact that there would DEFINATELY be some sort of laughing, exploding zombie in your way. The voice acting was perfect and all of the characters added something awesome to the overall experience. Te gameplay was also addictive in it's repetitveness: Run-Stop-Aim-Kill-Run.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: I love Brawl, but I will always prefer Melee because I feel like i'm more in control of my actions than I was in Brawl. The huge roster of memorable characters always wows me to this day. Mastering all of the fighters moves is both fun and rewarding. I also grew up with the game so that helps to :)

The orders always been tough for me, but I think I got it down.

5. Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask. Take the regular Zelda fomula. Throw it out the window. Good, now you can begin.

Its hard to know what level I love this game the most on. Is it the care and detail that went into making all four forms play brilliantly? The three day cycle allowing me to see why I need to do these things, including seeing a little girl get lobotomized because I wasn't fast enough (oh, and the whole total destruction thing)? The truly disturbing big boss, who when revealed as a child, just made it all the creepier? The ninjas?

The sidequests are also some of the best ever. Just finding the masks is really great, and the dungeon design is brilliant. Hell, the water level was tolerable. Thats a bloody landmark among Zelda games.

4. Hitman: Blood cheddar. I like to refer to this game as Dexter: The Videogame. So many villains are made so stock and grainy, so few take the time to make you despise them. These guys? You instantly take joy in your killing them. Drawn out, long and creative, savouring your work. Finding evey way you can to do the deed.

And I do mean every way - the level of creativity given is unprecendented. My favourite has to be the double whammy of swapping a fake gun with a real one and having the actors shoot each other to death, before dropping the chandelier on his lovers head as he rushes to the stage. But of course, my famous flambe angel food shark bait is just as dcelicious, and the 40 story hot tun accident are some of my best kills.

3. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patroits. Some might say I should put Subsistance up here. But in truth, I didn't connect with the characters in any way as much as I did in Guns of the Patroits. When Naomi was dieing, I was close to crying. As Snake was dragging his body foward, I was on my feet, hammering the button, whispering "don't die on me" under my breath. At Marryl and Johhnys wedding (following what has got to be one of the all time great took a level in badass scenes, just walking in carrying an anti-tank rifle one handed), I felt my heart well up, and Raiden and Roses reunion......

The bosses are brilliant (fans still haven't decided on the stand out one. I maintain it was Laughing Octopus, but most say Screaming Mantis - HIDEO2 FTW), the gameplay probably the best in the series (This and 3, and this had a invisible robot you could use to shock people in the booty), and the story just gave me chills.

And of course, theres the fact that the game might be psychic. I mean it. A bit way through I thought to myself "tranq gun is alright, but I'd like a stun gun with a bit more kick". And I recieve a shotgun with air round, perfect for a knockout with no kills. I was wanting a mask to cover my head, and I take it from Laughing Octopus's body. I go for broke. "I've never played the original Metal Gear SOlid before. I'd like that. Load up Shadow Moses, and I'm playing it. I shut my console off and had to inspect it. "This is another one of Kojimas mindgames, but how the fuck is he doing it?"

2. LittleBigPlanet Variety is the spice of life. If so, LittleBigPlanet is caliente. I doubt I need to really explain why this game is so great, so lets just say this - in finding old games I can see some pure satisifcation and joy people put into these things. They worked hard, and the leasty I can do is play them and tell them what I think. And I thoink from what I've seen, on the whole its brilliant.

1. God of War Collection Cheating a bit, I know, but its always been between the two of them. The two each fit as two sides balancing each other perfectly with the ultimate game - God of Wars story and dialogue being just a bit better than God of War II's, but the improved combat made it its predecesors equal. And God of War III will no doubt replace both. I've gone over this before, so I'll leave you with a quote - "Every other game is a joke. God of War is the punchline."

Notable exlusions: I know, I know, I should have SotC up there, but the fault is mine. I didn't finish the game in one go, and as such its impact was dulled.

I dunno. I kinda felt the voice acting for Susie, Travis and Iwazaru were kinda bad.

5. Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal: So they're basically the same game. I love these games mostly for nostalgia, but you have to admit they are great. Sixteen badges, two new Pokemon types, and other significant improvements from Red/Blue/Yellow that are now staples of the series. The general structure of the game feels different and un-cliched to me, as well.

4. Kirby Super Star Ultra: I suppose if I were a more legit Nintendo fan, I'd have played the original KSS, but really, a remake is still the same good game, with more goodies, and this was a pretty beefy remake. As for the game itself, so many powers, and the powers aren't just "press B to do this." When you suck up an enemy, it's suddenly like you're playing a different game. I only wish it had more stages. A game the size of Kirby's Adventure with the powers of Kirby Super Star would blow my mind.

3. Star Fox 64: daisies good shooting game. Great gameplay, great music, great story (if you pay attention to the tactical decisions behind stages), lolworthy voice acting (I can't really take voice acting seriously anyway), and the strange appeal of being the last great game in the series.

2. Okami: This is a pretty new addition to my list. Yahtzee Croshaw once asked, "Why does it always have to be a Zelda game? Why couldn't it be, for instance, a game where instead of playing as Link, you're a dog? And maybe, instead of weapons, he could have a magic paintbrush? Somebody write this down." Or something to that gist. Okami is a Zelda game with a different face, and different battling system. But that's good! I don't really care that it's a "ripoff". Can you imagine if every Zelda game that's ever been made was the exact same game, but with different characters and (very slightly) different story? First of all, the Super Smash Bros. series would be a lot more interesting. Besides being a Zelda game, Okami is also a very good Zelda game. Sure, the plot is a little weird (you beat what you thought was the final boss and fulfill the prophecy, but the game keeps going), and there was that issue with saving at the end that kept me from going back and doing any of the sidequests that I missed, but it was a great game overall, and still my second favorite.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

I always question people calling Okami a ripoff of Zelda. So somehow the dungeon crawling variant of action adventure is the sole property of one series? Why not say every puzzle game is a ripoff of Tetris? Scenes a faire, really.

Are you kidding! Let's see if YOU can make your voice sound like your talking through a garden hose filled with piss! Ha! I bet you can't!
ehem...
The voices of Kun Lan, Harman Smith, Curtis Blackburn, and Ulmeyda stand out to me as the best in the game. It's not that the dialog was believable or anything, but they made everything sound more badass than it should have.
"Tricks are for kids Kun, I'm an old man."
seriously?

I need to finish Okami.

But I, too, never really saw the relation to LoZ games. It's fantasy? You fight enemies? I don't get it.

The dungeon structure of Okami is very similar to a Zelda game. Enter a dungeon, explore a bit, solve puzzles, find a weapon/brush technique that suddenly makes everything in the dungeon easier and way more interesting, then fight a boss.

Also, Indigo, I agree so hard, but,

Oh, I guess it is sorta similar, then. But Okami still feels completely un-Zelda to me, personally.
