What do people think of this game? Its going for 1.99 on Steam for TODAY only. That includes the game + all expansions + 30 days of game time.

I asked a friend it costs like 300 million of the in game currency for 1 month of game time. Which can be a lot. I hear the best accessible capital ships in the game with good outfitting cost like 25 Billion and of course there are super rare expensive ships that are like 100 Billion+ ISK.

It just takes so long to get started, its a HUGE time commitment...

I'd buy this for myself and possibly others on here if they were willing to form a fleet with me and do shit together.

Oh yeah, if I had an account I would totally form a fleet with you. I don't like dieing, and this is obviously a game where there is strength in numbers.

I like long term investment games. However not when I have to continue paying for said long term playing.
Eve has always been of interest to me, especially after EA shut down Earth and Beyond

The other heavy hitter is the new job I have. I have no time for life until the weekends, and to waste the weekends away on a VG isn't what I plan to do.

Tried the free demo, but was plagued with lots and lots of connection problems

From what I managed to actually do it was pretty fun, although my inability to multitask efficiently would probably prevent me from doing anything other than just fly around and get blown up

it takes so long to get into the game though. you start at the bottom and training skills takes real life time that can't be grinded through really.

however if you put in enough time and cheddar and don't mind running a business type thingy than you can pay for your own play time with in game currency.

its not very actiony, its like playing the AH in WoW etc

the actual AH in this game is pretty badass too

theres multiple ones per sector, and prices vary depending on where you go

you can actually make a living being a trader in this game

i considered getting this but then i remembered that it's just be another game that i'd buy, play for maybe 2 weeks, get bored of and never touch again.

can anyone convince me it's worth the 2 bucks?

It is boring and lengthy and players who are doing well in it have told me that there is very little to no return on the investment in terms of time put in. They also likened starting a character in EvE to being an illegal immigrant in the USA. You have no cheddar, no friends, and no one really wants you. Its long and hard process to get started.

However for 2 bucks it seems like such a hard deal to pass down. Its only for another 14 hours though...
