Fellow Awkward Zombies, it has come to my attention that the popular online gaming community, The Escapist, has been holding a contest to see which gaming company is the greatest of all. Out of the sixty-four publishers who entered, only four remain. Here is the final four bracket:

Valve vs. Zynga
Blizzard vs. Bioware.

Out of these, I wish to direct your attention to the first matchup. for those of you who don't know, Zynga is the company that created Facebook games such as Farmville, Cafe World, and Mafia Wars. Throughout this competition, Zynga's fanbase of casual gamers, twelve year-olds, and old ladies have been spamming the site, making gaming giants such as Rockstar, Infinity Ward, and even Square Enix fall. Now Valve needs your help, please create a profile for The Escapist and Vote for Valve. If you have Twitter, please use it to obtain a second vote, also use facebook, this will also grant you another vote in the final two. (Details for that here)

We can make the right company achieve victory. We have the power! Go forth, my friends, and defend our turf. Don't let the new generation become the casual generation. It is time for change, my friends, only we can bring change, only if we stand as one!

No.

It's not an unimportant internet debate.

It's an even more unimportant internet popularity poll.

I can't tell you how important this actually is. With Zynga beating out all of these great game corporations, most developers will think that these games are what gamers want to play. If the larger demographic wants tedious casual games, we will get tedious casual games. No more horror games that challenge Silent hill 2, no more puzzle games that have ico fans guessing, no more artsy games that conquer the hearts of Okami lovers. Don't you see? Do you want that, Odds, do you?

All that shows is that a lot of people use Facebook.

WHAT A SURPRISE.

EDIT: WHY YES I AM VERY EASILY SWAYED THANK YOU FOR ASKING
