What it is that you control a single champion on a team consisting of 5 to 3 players. The goal of the game is for both teams to destroy the other team's castle. To do this, you need to level up, buy equipment, learn new abilities, and perfect strategy.

Its technically considered part of the MMO-RTS but another name for it is MOBA which is multiplayer online battle arena which sounds cooler

Badfish got it though. You play on a map which is an very nearly an exact mirror of itself. You control a champion and push down lanes. Additionally minions/creeps spawn that you can't control but push down the lane as well and your champion supports those minions. Each base is protected by 3 turrets per lane and then 2 in front of the main base. After the 3rd turret there is an inhibitor which if you destroy spawns more powerful creeps for the lane.

The game is all about working together and strategizing on how to beat the enemy team given the champions on your side compared to theirs. Knowing when to retreat as well as when to push forward are very key in the game, and the way the game is set up is that its very hard for just 1 person to win a game for you, you need pretty much everyone.

My name on LoL is InsertFail, Summoner Level 5. I've been practicing as Ryze AND I'M KIND OF HORRIBLE but I am learning. First MMO-RTS/DotA I've played, it is fun.

If you guys want tips or advice or what not let me know. I bought every champ except Poppy, Pantheon and Gragas. I'm good with Ashe, decent with Sivir and ok with Mordekaiser and Singed. My favorite is Udyr though.
