Basically, you know how a lot of A.I. characters can be horribly stupid?
Some times, they hinder us, other times, they make us laugh uncontrollably.

I think you should submit your own stories of joyful laughter or uncontrollable raeg.

For example, in Oblivion (which has it's fare share of idiocy), after punching the Count of Skingrad in the spine in front of 3 of his guards and summoning a Scamp (think an over-sized imp that shoots fire balls), he and his guards decided to run over and butcher the poor thing. Next, they moved onto me, but before any of the guards could do anything to me, the count punched me in my face.

The guards then turned the count into "Mince Meat" rendering him unconscious (?)

The guard who delivered the killing blow checked the body and stated "Hm, it's still warm... we must have a murderer on the loose."

Dwarf Fortress.

Y'see, the dwarves in that game aren't very smart. And by that, I mean they'd freely dismantle a wooden ledge as they're standing on it. Or insist that being on fire is a feature, not a problem, and that the best thing to do now is go get a drink down in the wine cellar!

Risen.
The combat system has a similar feel to Fable's, except, as far as I can tell, there is no lock-on function. So when you are fighting alongside allies, or at least non-enemy NPCs, it is rather easy to miss and hit the wrong person. There is a little room for error; I think you can hit them twice or so without them turning hostile, but if they do, they'll chase you down until they knock you out and take your cheddar or until you tell them a joke.

Aside from the combat, it's an amusing game so far. It feels a lot like The Witcher.

Maria, down in the basement of the hospital, through the labyrinth. She got in my way...So I kept getting stabbed by Pyramid Head.

After I got past her I just booked it to the elevator without bothering to wait for her.

I play a lot of tactics/strategy games, like Fire Emblem, Advanced Wars, Ogre Battle, and Final Fantasy Tactics, etc etc. And I swear, I have never found a game where the AI won't have some critical, easily exploded AI flaw.

One that comes to mind, because I started playing it recently was in Starcraft. I've noticed that the Protoss AI will never attack you, NEVER, unless they can manage to get their scout unit inside your base. When playing as Zerg, I can just surround my base with Spore Colonies, and their stealth detection will kill the scouts in one attack. And as long as the scout can't get close enough to see any of my buildings, I'm perfectly safe.

And it doesn't matter if I don't have any troops inside my base, I can just leave the game sitting for two hours, and I won't have been attacked a single time... Other than the corpses of a few dozen scouts that the computer keeps sending in.

You'd think they'd be all like "Hey I can destroy those spore colonies" but it never figures that out.

Critically broken AI.

Left 4 Dead. The AI is RIDICULOUS in that one!

Except for the zombies, they're pretty smart.

Lies, the humans are fucking brutal on Versus. They can auto aim in forests.

AI allies in FPS's are always pretty retarded. I.E. - Halo, CoD, ect.

What I really hate is controllable AI, like in Mass Effect or Rainbow 6, because a lot of the time, they don't listen to me.

I was just playing Metal Gear Solid 4. The AI on Normal is so inconsistent in that game.

At one point, I shot a guy behind another guy. The guy in front turned around. I run away, but he was only a few feet away. He goes "WHO'S THERE?" like he didn't see a daisies thing. So I get in the barrel, accidentally knock it over, put it back up, and the guy didn't notice a thing. I then held him up and crushed his testicles for being such a moron.

And THEN.... I'm in South America and a guy spots me lying on my stomach in the shade at the bottom of a rocky hill.

God daisies it.

Oh yeah Oblivion is so much fun to abuse the AI.

I once slaughtered the Entire city of Bruma stealthily and the guards just treated me like a normal person.

And then a slaughtered the guards too.

PROTIP: There are infinite guards.

Star Wars Battlefront II is a goldmine of NPC stupidity.

Such as throwing a sticky grenade at a vehicle, then RUNNING UP TO SAID VEHICLE and dying from the grenade blast.

Once, in oblivion, I was dong that one thieves guild quest where you have to sneak into the crypt place under a chapel and steal something. I snuck around the chapel guard that was patrolling down there and took the statue thing. A ghost came out of nowhere, and the chapel guard began to attack me. I wasn't allowed to kill on that mission, so I ran. As I ran out of the chapel, the guards began to run toward me and fire arrows. After running away for a while, I look back to see how close the guards are.

Turns out they weren't attacking me. They slaughter the chapel guard, despite the fact that she was obviously chasing a thief. They just left body there. I know they just leave the body for everyone, but I still think it's funny.

A Combine Guard kept hitting a turret with his gun and it never fell down because it was against the wall, silly combine.

my god. In a vs. game with three humans on the survivors, we've lost after all three players were pounced/pulled and the bot just ran around in circles. Then my luck stays the same as I get shot out of the air on a 25 damage pounce by a bot with a tier 1 gun. raeg
