Regarding more relevant games, I could not get through Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. I have it sitting on my shelf, but I can't get myself to pick it up. Sure the gameplay is fun, and I thought the graphics were nice, but that annoying voice-over is just... just... urgh.
I don't like that game either - it was way too linear.
Sure you could pull off fancy wall-walking moves - but only when the situation allowed for it, then you had to hit the wall
just right.
It couldn't compare to the expectations of first-person games that Metroid Prime had given me. I just kept thinking to myself 'Why am I playing this inferior game? I'd rather play Metroid Prime again than this
linear-fest!'
Hurrr... I actually liked that game. Sure it was linear, but the linear-ness worked, in my opinion. However it's the only PoP game I've ever played so maybe I need to play the others to have something to compare it to.
The only thing I didn't like was the combat... I have the Wii version, so instead of pressing buttons to attack, you swing the wiimote and nunchuck. There's a bunch of combinations you can do, but they're practically impossible so you just end up swinging your arms wildly to attack.
Another more recent game that suuucks: Emergency Heroes for the Wii. My dad bought it cause he likes racing games. At the store I told him "don't do it dad, that game looks like crap, it probably sucks!"
It does, of course.
The whole game is just a fuckton of roads. You drive around and find emergencies to go to, then you save people. It's ridiculously easy. I haven't played it recently, but I do remember that the voice acting is horrendous.
