Items enforce adaptability. They can give a brawl a dramatic twist, even the odds a little, or just be used to have a laugh.

Plus, there's nothing quite like killing someone with a banana peel

Agreed and there are few things sweeter than a win with Dragoon.

Yep.

Matches tend to be boring without items. Turns it into every other fighting game out there except for a lack of a health bar.

Items ensure that almost every match is unpredictable.

Unless you turn on one type of item.

Gone are the days where I laughed at a Pichu-only/Bomb-only match in Brinstar Depths.

I put them on the lowest setting. I turn off the springs, Mr Saturns and poison mushrooms though. God I hate those.

I feel epic using the Timer, I will not lie.

Dodging a Dragoon is probably the best feeling in the world. Especially if you pause right when it happens and look around at it.

Items make the game more (a. funny)(b. interesting)(c. fair)(d. all of the above).

I kind of dislike people who turn off items.

I usually keep rate on medium, and turn off: hammers, starman, heart container, mushrooms, and Mr. Saturn.

If playing with friends, we'll turn off items every once in a while to test our skills with specific characters against each other, but I prefer keeping them on. As everyone else said, they make every match unique.

I don't really turn any items off. It's really great when you open a box or capsule to find a Mr. Saturn. I also think fake hammers and lousy Pokemon/Assist Trophies are hilarious. "I hope it's a speaky!"

I have all the items on all the time - even the ones that backfire.

It's kinda annoying when a 'Timer' slows you down instead of everyone else.

And a 'Lightning Bolt' shrinks you but makes everyone else giant-sized.

DOG - I hate it when that happens.

Wait, when were Mr. Saturns considered good items? I mean, as far as I could tell, they SUCKED!

Brawl isn't as fun without items :l

Also, Resetti is the best item ever and you know it.
