I snagged up a beta key since I was kinda curious, still installing the game atm but I figured I'd check if any one else here plays? Or what your opinions are on Blizzard's move on the MOBA market?

Its alright. Defintly faster paced and simpler than dota. I think its fun at times but the gimmick maps can be tiring

My impression so far: run forward, spam spells, win games. Kinda fun though.

i like hots for the same reason i like awesomenauts.

plenty of map variety, games are quick, the item/spell system is very simplified (hots is even simpler than awesomenauts) and you build to respond to the situation instead of having the one best thing to do. also i like how every map plays differently, but it would be nice to have one map that's just completely objectiveless (three lanes + jungle ala dota 2) to see if hots is a strong moba as a moba without the map mechanics in place.

I found the game enjoyable. Quick little matches usually around 15-ish minutes but I must agree with:

Picked this up yesterday, it's very fun. Raynor is the best.

Actually Dota 2 does have one main objective, Roshan, and high level games tend to center a lot around him. Though that's still not comparable to the extent HotS revolves completely around objectives.
