AWKWARD ZOMBIE

So, Titanfall's out a while, I finally get it. Of course, it goes on a 25% off sale this week since I bought it last week... but that's to be expected.

It's been a whole bunch of fun. You get to tear around these decently-sized battlefields, hopping on walls, clinging to walls, hacking npc robots, hopping on enemy titans... good times. The titans are clearly monstrous in their killing ability, but as each player has an anti-titan weapon that can hurt it, they aren't invulnerable. But, you'll make a good dent either piloting (or having it follow you like a demented guard dog) to make a difference. You'll die swiftly and frequently, but you respawn almost instantly, so no biggie. Burn cards are powerful boosts, but only last until you die (ie, a titan steps on your ten seconds in. whoops).

Also, I used to think the jump kick was overpowered, but anything less than an auto-kill in this fairly lethal game would make it worthless. Thoughts?

I've been playing it on my Xbone, mainly Hardpoint Domination. My favorite Titan to use is probably the Stryder with Quad Rockets and Slaved Warheads, although I've found the Cluster Missiles are really useful for killing pilots inside buildings.

My favorite pilot weapon is probably the G2A4 with the match trigger. I'm just a big fan of semi-automatic rifles in games.

I got it a few days after launch and it's a blast.

My most common load out is either a Hemlok or the first automatic rifle you get (I forget the name) with the third pistol. As much as I love the idea of the smart pistols, they're surprisingly difficult to use. Relies a lot on setup and maneuvering, which is pretty tough in such a fast game.

I don't know if I like it quite as much as Halo, because it's pretty dang fast and doesn't feel quite as deep, but it's a perfectly good alternative for as long as I can't get my xbox online.

I'm an LMG man myself, although the Carbine's pretty much the perfect firearm and probably needs some nerfing. I managed to jump up the faces of TWO titans in a row and jackhammer them to death in the same life. Very good times.

Yesterday I managed to punch a dropship to death with a Titan. Well, technically I'm pretty sure that I punched it down to a tiny sliver and then someone else finished it off, but still, I took off half a healthbar with three punches.

And this is all that is good and glorious about Titanfall!

I've seen a lot of people use their nuclear detonation when ejecting to snipe dropships, too...

Holy crap, I'm loving the parkour In this game, I can be speedy Gonzales on a wall here.

Respawn released a pretty big title update for the game which adds a ton of stuff. I'm really impressed; it feels like a whole other game now.

smart pistol is fun but hard to use so i just stick to the bog standard assault rifle
