Awesome Games Done Quick 2014

I believe this deserves its own thread. Most people here are probably familiar with what AGDQ is about but if you're not, it's a charity event that originally started in 2010. Throughout the week-long (5. Jan - 11. Jan) marathon, speedrunners will be beating games all around the clock to raise cheddar for the Prevent Charity Foundation. Besides watching the stream and chatting, you're encouraged to donate so that they can meet their goal of $500,000. When and how much you donate matters, because you may be eligible for prizes.

I've watched a good chunk of runs from previous events on Youtube but this is the first time I'm watching the marathon live. I'll probably donate during the Deus Ex run.

Was watching TheRixer doing his Jak "trifecta" run the other day, but I missed Jak 1, only tuning in for the start of Jak 2.

Needless to say, I was excited to see Bonesaw running Jak 1, and it was a great watch. Also excited to see the Spyro run coming up soon.

I want to watch Viewtiful Joe but I feel like I shouldn't be watching because I'm interested in playing the game myself. This will probably happen several times during the marathon.

Vieuwtiful Joe speedrun was fantastic, and yeah Great Handsome Oppressor was right, that was over before I fully comprehended what was happening, and they didn't really skip anything either.

I've seen TASes of games being used to run code but creating Pong and Snake inside SMW w something new.

Once the marathon is over they release torrents for each run individually which are then gradually uploaded on YouTube on this channel.

Luckily they uploaded that whole block already and not in April.
