If Sonic is the size of an actual hedgehog, that sword would be no more than an extravagantly thick fancy toothpick. BLEEDING GUMS GUARANTEED! :D

But if he's the size of an actual hedgehog, does that mean everyone else was a runt? THEREFORE PROVING THAT SONIC IS 12X LARGER THAN A REAL HEDGEHOG.

Apparently, Sega decided that Sonic and the Secret Rings wasn't a real Sonic game, because it was Arabian Nights themed. Never one to let a spin-off be all by its lonesome, Sonic Team decided to make another themed Sonic game. And if you're going to pick a theme, why not go for broke and give the chracters weapons?
