So for those of you that don't know Mighty No. 9 is a Kickstarter-funded game by Mega Man's creator Keiji Inafune which has many of the same concepts as the classic Mega Man games and it looks awesome as shit

It's been getting lots of funding and here are the goals we've met so far

This is really cool, can't wait to see what Keiji does here.

Wait it wasn't already coming to Wii U? So, I'm guessing not 3DS either?
Guess I gotta hope on that kickstarter.

Surprised it's saying PS3/360 versions when those are getting their new consoles in about two months.

When the next gen consoles release there will still be more people with PS3s and 360s.

This game won't be completed until next year though, meaning the market will be shifting towards the new consoles and away from the old.

Developing for next gen consoles in their early phase is expensive as hell and the results are often clunky.

Besides which, both consoles are backwards compatible, so the people who buy a PS4 or Xbone will be just as able to play their games on there.

When was it said that Xbox One is backwards compatible? Or the PS4?

PS4 plays PS3 games and has access to whatever online services the PS3 has (unless like the game servers have been shuttered), this was announced during E3.

XBone announced their backwards compatibility at some point as a plus for people who want to sell their old console or who haven't jumped on the bandwagon, but I'm not sure if this is just disc games or also XBLA.

I looked it up. Neither console has actual backwards compatibility. PS4 just says they'll be making use of the cloud to download PS3 games from the PSN and play them. Xbox says they might do that but aren't certain.

I would wager the games and content available on XBLA and the PS store will be playable on their next-gen counterparts via emulation or a compatibility mode or such

Seems odd to develop for one next-gen console and not the others.

I guess it's just that the Wii U has been out for a while and they have an idea of how to program properly for it?

Anyway I am super hyped about this and am glad that I'll be able to play it on a console instead of just the PC.

well as long as they start with the PC version, they can easily make PS4 and Xbox one versions. They all use x86

Wii U and handhelds will be harder to make though
