AWKWARD ZOMBIE

The year is 20XX. A type of disease has stuck the vast industrial city of Malton, causing the dead to rise and crave the flesh of the living. It didn't take long for the government to take action, sending in the military to evacuate the citizens of Malton and then entrapping said military in the city with a dig wall and one-hundred and twenty something machine guns.

Deep inside the city, many scientists found the extra time surrounded by the ravenous not-dead to create a short-term solution to the zombie menace, by turning them back to the humans they once were. With the mysterious chemical that we shall not name because we do not know it's name, Malton quickly became more of a war zone, between the surviving citizens/military/scientists and the zombies wishing to quash the human population.

You are one of them, be it a survivor who never decided to leave their building for an arguably very good reason, or a corpse on the streets who just happened to be very lazy until this point, but who are you really?

Because I couldn't resist the joke, you are now The Awkward Zombie.

Your eyes flick open, first one and then the other, staring blankly along the cold ground. Memories of sirens echo in your ears for a moment, and fade into strange and distant murmurs.

Unsteadily, and on awkwardly angled limbs, you rise to your feet. Welcome to Malton.



You are in a carpark.
There is one dead body here.

You are carrying nothing.

What kind of shoddy modern text-based adventure game doesn't have an allusion to that reference.

Megaman's will most likely be the Rush Armor. Or maybe the Rush Jet. Something with Rush definitely. Maybe Beat. Flip top too?

You chow down on the body, savoring how plump and juicy it is. Sadly, since you don't have the skill to actually feed off of bodies, living or otherwise, nothing happens.

Ok, go...walk to some fuckin' shop nearby or something.

<<You are standing outside the Avery Arms, an imposing grey-stone pub. The building has been very heavily barricaded.

Somebody has spraypainted HELLO RANDOM PEOPLEZ WHO I DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT onto a wall.

<<Update: A tubby fellow in a labcoat approaches you, seeing you idle in the street. He seems to scan you with an odd device, and then injects a needle into your neck. A sudden chill comes over you as you crumble to the colder sidewalk, unconscious. Warm floods your body while you lie on the ground, you have been revivified.>>

See if those douches in the arms shop will give you a gun and some ammo.
