Yeah fuck blighttown with a rake. The only reason I'd ever want to go through the normal entry is to get the Iato.
Even then I might just join forest hunter and buy some off of Shiva.
Honestly though Blighttown is 500% easier if you take the time to stock up on moss from the trees in the forest and get the ring in the asylum so run through the swamp easier. Also buy a poisonbite ring from Oswald when you meet him. It's worth it.

I am so scared, I just want to find a way to the Valley of the Drakes shortcut
So far I've died twice from falling which has cost me 30k in souls

You can't access it unless you have the master key.

Use the lift in the firelink shrine to go down into New Londo.
Go down the stairs, right a little ways then up a tower, there will be a door the master key will open into the valley of the drakes. Go across a wooden bridge then into a cave, the save has many infected trolls in it but leads to a much further section of blighttown that skips all the shitty plank wood village nonsense.

honestly its not difficult for me, its just the fucking FPS drop in there. i dont know how much it matters on the PC but for the xbox it fucking chugggggged

I'm pretty sure it takes a monster PC to get rid of the fps drops, I've noticed plenty of them in Blighttown.

The reason for the FPS chug I think was the mosquitoes that respawned an awful lot just basically lag the area. Kill those and it should calm down.

Alternatively, get armor with high poison resistance. It's super useful. Since I never took off my Pyromancer armor, I strolled through Blighttown not minding the darts and I didn't get poisoned a single time until I got to a long stretch in the water before Queelag.

i thought it was all the buildings and such with individual renders. when im IN the swamp im perfectly fine its just while up there in blight town itself its fucking laggy as shit

Okay yeah, FUCK Blighttown with a rake
I almost made it through to the Valley of Drakes exit only to die by falling after which my weapon quickly broke to the point that I had to equip an unupgraded greataxe twohanded and run through half of Blighttown and all of the Depths to get to the blacksmith to repair my shit
For a while I seriously doubted that I would get out of there
